So i went on my normal morning ride thru the mountains and i stopped for coffee..thats when i noticed the simple oil leak i had decided to become Niagara Falls. So i went in and had my coffee then went to find a quart or 2 of oil. It was a long 15 miles home with many stops to add oil. once i got home it was time to take the engine off and start dismantling it. It seems that the base gasket didnt want to hold the oil anymore and that was where my little leak started. After tearing it down and doing a little inspection... I decided to head to one of my local parts store (or a truck in this case) and pick up some new goodies. Not a bad deal for $150..60mm piston, 300mm racing crank, all new gaskets, new chain and oil pump. I got back home around 5pm and started cleaning everything then started to reassemble around 5:30pm It started to get dark quick but we got everything installed and mounted by 8pm..not bad for completely rebuilding the engine in 2.5 hours.

First of all, what perverted doctor did you get in PR to do such a bizarre machine to human transplant?....EEEEEE-YUK!
Second, how did you get Rob Lowe to work on your scooter?
Great story, keep us posted. Rich

Ha Rich..Well Rob Lowe for got to tighten the valves down and today when i went to ride it how i heard an awful clack clack noise. I pulled over and pulled the valve cover to see them just about to ruin my day. I quickly tightened them up and headed home. Now i have to wait for it to cool off so i can adjust them properly. Thats the last time i buy Bacardi while putting the engine together. BTW we have the Puerto Rican Adam Sandler who works for United Motors. I have been playing with roller weights and found that 57 (3-10g and 3-9g) grams is to much for me..take off is way to slow. So i am back at 45 grams until the break in is over. Im having a real issue with flat spotting them after 3-4 months and they also are not helping me get up these steep hills.

I forgot to mention that i think i found the cause of the oil getting to the spark plug as well. Notice the nicks in the side of the piston. and somehow a piece of the skirt got broke off. Im glad i did a complete rebuild and i dont have to worry about any stray pieces flying around in the case.
