Hello its me again,
Well, I got it running and had a couple test runs, then on the way home from the last one (riding about 10-15 minutes) it stalled on me, like it was out of gas. I was at the side of the road with no shoulder, so desperately tried to restart, it started running, but would not move, it tried but wouldnt, and then all of a sudden it did, thank goodness.
I pulled off and checked gas, oil, and coolant, all good. I waited about 5-10 minutes then started again and it ran and moved fine, I rode slow and got home fine, including my extremely steep and long driveway.
Any ideas? I guess these things dont have transmission fluid, since I couldnt find anything about it, seems there is something called a CVT which I have not researched much? That was my first idea given it didnt want to move.
Sigh..... I cant trust this thing, not sure whether to get rid of it or keep trying to fix it up.
Thanks for all your help

It does have transmission fluid in the final drive. There should be a "How To" in the manuals and help section. It sound to me like you had foreign matter in your carburetor and it stalled the bike then cleared out. Put a system cleaner in your gas tank. Seafoam from an auto parts store will do the trick. 1 oz. per gallon.

Thanks, found the help section. Now understand that "gear oil" and transmission fluid are same thing. I sure am learning a lot about mechanics (the machines not the people ;-) )
I was wondering about fuel too, but since it idled fine after restart but wouldnt move, thought more transmission. I will try the fuel cleaner. Thanks

Look for oil in the cvt area , check the pulleys post pics . We have some sharp eyes around here . Have you changed your oil and trans fluid DO IT YOUR SELF check the old oil for particals . Did I mention show us pics or video . When you remove the cvt cover shoot a video when you rev the engine pulleys should open and close . Please don't be shy!!!!!!!! John

Hi Again-
Thanks, I believe I found the problem, disconnected vacuum hose. We had discovered this ( I had a mechanically oriented friend around at that time - he moved away!) and reattached, but it appears the manifold? it is attached to is partially broken at the connection, so I had to jury rig something to keep in place. Shouldnt be a problem after this.
I will however change the gear oil and take a look at the CVT, since those appear to be things I can handle and should assess since this thing is 6K & 6yrs old and was kinda beat up when I got it. I have already changed the oil and radiator fluids. I will post pics too.
I am so happy to have found this board, without it I would have given up long ago.
Thanks!
