Heres a new one on me...i went for a ride this morning and when i got home i noticed my wheel was covered in oil. I panicked at 1st since the engine is only 3 weeks old. Once i started to look closer i seen the cvt cover was covered as well. Something has started to push the gear oil out of the little hose. I dont see anything apparently wrong with it. Has anyone had this happen or seen this before?

It probably is overfilled if it is coming out of the vent hose. It only takes 4-6oz of oil in there. Alleyoop

ill drain and refill it and see. Its the only place it is leaking from. I rode today for the 1st time in a week and i only had this problem 1 time before and that was just after i rebuilt the engine. i was thinking maybe the increased speeds may have something to do with it. I still have not taken it over 50mph so i guess that would not be the cause. What makes me upset is that it makes my wheel dirty

If it still comes out due to high speeds put in 85W-140 trans oil actually it will also quiet the gear meshing due to more oil film that it leaves on the parts. Alleyoop

Make sure you check it / flush it before you continue to ride. If there is a problem and it goes dry you could do a lot more costly damage. It takes only a few minutes to drain and refill, even easier then changing the oil and you'll thank yourself later because you're not chancing a long walk back home. Careful with the fill plug bolt, it strips super EZ.!

So far after cleaning it i have had no other leaks. Its so odd since it has happen twice in about 5 weeks. Been there done that sledwrecker...on the way back from a 100 mile ride with the guys one of the scooters locked up the rear wheel. upon closer inspection he ran it dry and the gears exploded.
