Nice rides! Hey, is that your trike on the Extreme Scooters site? Just got one myself and still gettin' her prepped. Did you stick with stock tires and do you have any vibration? I am sure glad that I pulled the body off and went over everything closely cause I found quite a few issues that would have turned bad if overlooked. Curious to know how your're making out with yours. Have fun with your toys!

Thank You new2scootn. I'm not sure if they are the stock tires or not. The scooter was drop shipped directly from Sunny. I had to tighten everything in the front end to get rid of a bad wobble. The bike has quite a bit of vibration just idling. The vibration seems to lessen as you get up to speed but comes back at 50+ mph. I had some issues in the very start of the bike shutting off and hard to start back up then with 365 miles on her it died and wouldnt start back up. The problem was a bad ignition coil. I also noticed the first 100 miles my speedometer was acting real erratic. It has not acted up since. I've got 570 miles on the bike and so far so good. I do get a bad wobble when slowing down but it goes away when I get back in the throttle.

I thought that avatar picture looked familiar! Thanks for sharing info on your vibration and running issues. I'll be posting more once I finish prepping and get out on the road.

I also have the wobble or fishtail as I call it when I let off the throttle abruptly and it goes away when I apply the throttle again, must be a design flaw. It's absolutely great being on a site with two other Roadrunner riders. daddue

Since it is running again I'm enjoying it. I have put 286 miles on it in 8 days. At the moment there are no real serious issues. Tomorrow I'm doing another oil change, rear end gear oil change, and might attempt to take the front body panel off and tinker around with my body/tilt lock.

"Little Sunny" is best lookin' of the bunch imo! ;D How's that thing runnin' Justin? Here in PA it's been either stormin' or cold as you know what so haven't had mine out in a while but this weekend is supposed to be nice... yay! You ever ride one of those Can-Ams? I rented one before buying my Sunny trike so you can guess how I feel about them. They're not bad lookin' and they're fast and I really liked the semi automatic transmission(thumb paddle shifter). But they don't TILT! And comin' from a motorcycle background I really like to tilt and lean into turns. Man oh man does that take some getting used to when you first start ridin' one. I felt real uncomfortable at first but the more I road it the more comfortable I got. But there was absolutely no way in hell I was gonna spend four times as much on that thing(or about eight times as much for a full up touring model) and sacrifice one of the reasons that makes ridin' so enjoyable... tiltin', leanin', and carvin' up some twistys. Even if it's just a slow speed stroll through a local park it's just so much more fun when you're leanin' into those turns. Bang for the buck is extremely high for me with my Sunny Roadrunner. Hope you're enjoyin' yours too!

The Sunny Roadrunner SEEMS to be almost exactly what I'm looking for in a reverse trike, although I'd prefer about 30HP, and possibly a canopy reminiscent of the Bug-E. The tilt is fantastic IF it functions as it should. But I have a few questions... at speed, does the trike countersteer like a conventional motorcycle, or do you steer it like an ATV? Does the trike handle well when ridden somewhat aggressively? And, most importantly, what about handling during abrupt transitions (traffic/accident/collision avoidance, etc?). At the price point, I certainly expect to be purchasing what I would tend to call a 'fully assembled kit' and not a fully sorted out vehicle, but I would like to know if the sorting out has positive results. If there are any videos online besides those the distributor has posted, I'd sure like to see them. I'm located in Tampa, and if there's someone anywhere nearby that would be amenable to showing me their Sunny, I'd love to check it out!

This is Justin's thread so I'll let him answer first then I'll chime in with some of my own input. In the mean time you can check out some of the comments in "trikers alley" or search Sunny Roadrunner 300 or MC_D300TKB and you'll find a lot of stuff from Justin, me, and daddue about our trikes. Oh yeah, if you're lookin' for that kind of horsepower you're gonna need to look at a Piaggio... more horses, much better quality, and a LOT more $$$.

The Piaggio is a really nice, technically advanced bit of hardware. I just don't like the aesthetics. The Sunny seems to sit lower, and possibly a bit more reclined. Truth be told, I was well on my way to completing the design of a reverse trike using my Honda Reflex powertrain, ATV front bits, and building a semi-enclosed cabin high mileage machine. This was interrupted by the chance to trade the Reflex for a small sailboat! If the Sunny handles acceptably enough, and I can eventually build the canopy I want for it (I expect full use of a vehicle, rain or shine) I'm likely to buy one. I'd like 75 MPH, but I will consider the Sunny acceptable if it's do 55... I'll just have to compromise and skip using the freeway on my daily commute!
