With such big wheels think it would reasonable to think with a few hundred dollars invested in it that I could make it a 60mph highway cruiser? I've heard you can put an oil cooler behind that front grill?

Oh Yes, 60mph cruiser easy. I believe it already has a big variator and clutch pulleys just like the ones on the 250s. So it is just a matter of playing around with probably the weights in the Variator and most likely that is about it for it to cruise at 60mph. If not then instead of putting stuff on the motor just put in taller gears they are cheap and you get a big bang of mph. Alleyoop

John, Check out the Variator if it has the 250 variator it should be around 123mm in diameter BIG SUCKER(HEHE).
Just want to tell you JOHN that those 115 Variators I bought from you ARE FANTASTIC!! they are great have lots of good starting and pull through the rpms. Just so you know those variators like little heavier weights to get your top end because the ramps are a little steep. I just changed to 12g DR. Pulley Sliders and I cranked it up to around 63mph and backed off. I am going to try the 13G Dr. Pulley Sliders next and see how they work out I have never put in the 13g Sliders and or Rollers. Mself52, If you have a lot of hills going to taller gears is NOT recommended. You need pulling power to climb the hills at a good clip. You will have to see how it pulls up the hills and work with the CVT weights. Climbing hills you want to NOT loose RPMS just the MPH going up the hills.
Example say you are going 50mph at the bottom of the hill at say 6000 rpms. If you hold the throttle right there you should reach the top STILL at 6000 rpms but maybe loose 5-10mph when you reach the top. If you loose RPMS then your weights are to heavy. Alleyoop
