Hello. Got here via link from valley scooters. Ive been looking at CF moto v3 for years now but unfortunately I understand they have been discontinued. Recently I came across the kikker 5150 websight and they look interesting if for nothing else, they tell you up front that you will be constantly working on them. I would love any input that anyone has on either of these two. I've been told that 250 cc is the point of diminishing returns for power/fuel milage as 70 mph at 70 mpg is about what to expect. Is this about right or way off? what will i use it for? commuting, having fun, goofing around, or all 3 at once

Thats exactly it look for around 70 mpg for the 250cc and anything above that needs more pistons to run and the mpg drops like a rock to 50s mpg based on speed etc. The CF moto is a good ride but if your looking cheaper go with the 250cc scooter same power IMHO.

Yep I am on both forums and welcome to this forum. Here I believe KZ1000st has one of those or two or three he has a stable of scoots and bikes. He may have the V3 and or the V5 maybe both, so when he sees this I am sure he will chime in and tell you all about them. He has pictures of them on a thread someplace. Alleyoop

I've got a used V-5 on the show room floor. Just took it in on trade...haven't had time to go over it yet.

I came this close to landing a V-5 but the deal fell through. There are plenty of used V-3s out there on Craigslist for not much money. I wouldn't worry about CF Moto's future plans. As I discovered the CN-250 engine is fairly easy to buy parts for. If worrying about a model being discontinued was everybody's chief concern nobody would buy anything but a Harley. The Japanese discontinue and update models all the time.

Welcome to the forum Aquateenhungerforc. Where you at in B'ham? I'm across the mountain in Chelsea. CF Moto is still making bikes but it's a limited selection. The new 250cc is EFI as is the 650cc. The V5 is still around but will be reincarnated as the Cruz due this fall:
I have a 150cc CF Moto (Pegasus) and a 250cc Fashion. They're very solid builds and have given me zero trouble. If you can find a low mileage used one I'd grab it, they still support all the parts. I rode a V5 for about a month and it's a blast although not a crotch rocket by any means. I bought both of my CFs from Cookees and you won't deal with a more honest guy. Uship.com would get it down here for about $300.00.

Im in Hoover but get by Chelsea pretty often. Not a fan of the v5. Just dont like the looks. Got a quote from Paul Lee at budgetsalesga.com/ BUDGET SALES 4193 HWY 41 NORTH Ringgold, GA 30736 Phone #: 706-935-8508 about two new V3's for $2250 each . compared to what ive seen on the internet this is a very good price. I googled his name and the business and they have a B rating with BBB tho not a member. and zero negative message traffic on the interwebz otherwise. So have any of you guys dealt with this company? I appreciate all info. this is the kind of deal i'd feel stupid not to go with if all other signs are go.

I have a cfmoto jet-max250 2011. It is white. I have near 4,000 miles on it. I like it very much. Have no trouble with it. I bought it at Gomotomn.com In Minneapolis Minnesota. It is the cruiser fuel injected. Very easy scooter to ride .
