Ok that is your problem RIGHT now with the AIR BOX it is running to RICH not enough air. So you can either switch back to the old main jet until your UNI filter comes in because there is nothing you can do to LEAN it out enough for it to run good. Or you can leave it the way it is and just ride it easy until you get the UNI put on. Because when you put on the UNI you will most likely have to RE-ADJUST the Fuel Ratio Screw. Alleyoop

Took it for another run, was even worse slower and jerkier, and full throttle seemed to not even do anything basicly. Kept it going 20 tops

Ok, thanks alleyoop! I appreciate the help! If it is bogging down this much don't you think it will still bog down a good amount even with the uni filter?

Alright i took the whole air box off so there is no filter and adjusted the air fuel and the throttle response is good. I took it for a ride but now its top speed is only 30 on flat ground where it used to be 40

ok good to know. So do you believe than that with the uni my top speed on flat ground should go back to what it used to be with this #80 main jet i have in now?

Hard to say because we do not know WHAT size jet was in the carb or do you know. On the new carb was the jet marked? If the Original Jet was really small then the #80 may be to big but I would not think so. But if it is you could also try lowering the needle in the Diaphgram to take some fuel away. Alleyoop

No, sadly the jet that came with the carb was not marked.....although when i looked rough them the jet that came with the carb seemed to have a nigger whole, although that could just be an optical illusion. Also how do i lower said needle? I just really do 't like messing with it toomuch because it is my only mode of transportation and i just want it running top notch without problems is all

Although alleyoop, can you help diagnose this part of the problem? When i hit the ignition it starts to turn but won't start unless i give it gas, and then once it is started and i let go of the throttle the engine dies. I have to hold the throttle and rev it for a good while until it can succesfully idle by itself. Right now i have the #80 main jet and no air filter on. So do you think you know what could be causing this specific part of the problem?

Yea without a filter it is getting to much air and not enough fuel for cold starts. Do you have the ENRICHER PLUGGED in? You can try covering part of the air inlet on the AIR BOX with a piece of duct tape and see if that helps it. Alleyoop

Ok, Alleyoop, the new UNI filter came in and I set the air fuel ratio and then the idle. I took it for a ride and it was a little better. It seemed just a tad jerky at very first in accelerating, but almost not noticeable. The one problem is that its' top speed is still lower than before. And suggestions? Also there is a weird kind of whirring sound/ as if something s,all was geeting vibrated at about 3/8 throttle but that could just being normal bike vibration. So do you think that new jet is still too big or any ideas?
