So just curious because I just got the new scooter 150cc rock thunder aka mc-70-150cc and ppl have said its the same frame and body that the 250cc comes on....so about how much would a new fully assembled 250cc engine and the oil cooler cost and how hard of a swap would it be? I really wanted a 250cc sleeper but hated how they are so big and not sporty....any insight on what all parts would be needed and how difficult it would be welcome and thanks in advance

Pro Question to you WHY did you not get a 250 in the first place?
To tell you the truth, I just looked up your 150 scoot and I do not believe that Body style can accomadate a 250 with all that is required. I think that is the wrong type of body to be able to fit a 250. Alleyoop

Have to agree with Alley. Your style scoot is typically a 150cc. Have never seen it as a 250cc.

Correct me if I'm wrong but I thought your bike looked kind of like this:
I don't think they make that in a 250 and you'd have a time getting a 250 in it. There's a Bali that is both 250 and 150 but that's the only one I'm aware of:

Thanks guys and don't get me wrong I love my new scooter was just misinformed which is why I put it to the pros....one other question tho if money wasn't the issue, what would be the best things to do to my scooter to add a little speed 5-8 mph but most important make it reliable and last a while....I'd love one day to do a bbk and stroker possibly but what would it take to keep it durable with that kinda mod

To get 5-8 mph more on your top end Just put in Taller Gears and work with the CVT it will get you 6-10 mph more on your top end easy. Alleyoop

welcome
i havent done it, BUT are things are relative. How mechanically inclined are you? alley and others i rate a 10 out of a scale of 1-10, 10 being best im a 2, maybe 3. i do my valves when they need it. dont even think its hard at all. on cars, ive done alot, but on my "Chrissy" i havent had to do much. 8k+ miles & only had to replace a magneto. TOOLS- thats the other point, do u have tools? Changing gears i think you would need a good shop set up, etc.. i would attempt more if i had air tools and other tools etc & another thing would be is there a shop close by? in case you get stuck or F something up.

Go read this Thread and see the Videos of Petrol42 he put in 17/37 gears I have 16/37 in my trike and I am putting in 18/36 gears and give them a try. So as you can see 17/37 or 16/37 Will do you real good on the highway. And if you need more RPMS you can always go with lighter weights in your variator. But you really want to run at around 7k or little lower at top end cruising speed. Alleyoop www.scooterdoc.proboards.com/index.cgi?action=display&board=150cc&thread=6939&page=1#54215
