What kind of Electric Scooter do you have? Do you have a link to what you have so we can see what it is.

i really hate electric scooter, less power, and if you stall in the middle of the highway,you need a long cord to re-charge it...geeez!

How does it transfer the power to the driving wheel, does it have a ELECTRIC HUB on either the Rear or Front Wheel? Is is driven by an Electric motor directly to the wheel or turns a sprocket and chain. Also how many 12 volt batteries does it have.

I emailed them and stated the problem and I also asked for a service manual I could download ;D See if they respond or NOT


Since it mentions it has 2 speeds maybe you have it set for high speed at start up which the pedals would be usless. I know some you can engage or disengage the PEDALs by moving a lever.

Sounds like on those the pedal part is controlled when pressure or turning the pedals makes the PEDAL Gear engage the Drive Gear. Your problem appears to be that the PEDAL GEAR is NOT disengaging have you tried pushing the pedal shaft in or out to try and have it disengage?

It sounds like the gear moves to engage the drive gear when the pedals are turned which are usually activated with a spring and with no pressure on the pedals the gear is disengaged. Once pressure is put on the pedals the spring moves the Pedal gear and engages the Drive Gear and you now can pedal to move. Once you stop pedaling the spring disengages the PEDAL Gear from the Drive Gear and the pedals do not move.

WOW!! Check the throttle it appears the connector to advance the speed is stuck on the high side of the resistor that determines the speed. You might try and spray some WD-40 to where the throttle makes contact with the speed resistor and reconnect the wires back up to fully use the speeds available.

If you could check what the throttle activates or moves that would help I know how they pretty much work. My brother-in law has an ELECTRIC BIKE he ordered the PHONEHIX BRUTE which has 6 batteries 72volt job and it does near 40mph.

HEHEHE, his bike has so much torque from a stop if you twist the throttle and do not hold on it will throw you off the bike, that thing is quick. We had to put a STEEL FORK on it because most bikes come with aluminum forks and with the Torque the motor puts out it bends the damn forks(HAHA).

Yes, he does get strange looks when he is keeping up with traffic ona 35mph limit street(HAHA).

Well the problem with the Scooter charger is it is 20amp. You need a trickle charger with only like 1.5 or so amp. But The chargers are cheap enough for those bikes here are some I found on Ebay.

The Hub Motors are easy to put on but they are expensive as you can see in the LINK for the company that makes them. You need the controller and harness and have a choice of either a twist throttle grip or a thumb push throttle.
