Alley so I've rode my scooter for two weeks now and the top end seems strong I haven't maxed it yet but at 7k rpm I had it up to 70mph on the speedo which is 60mph GPS and it still had more left but since its new I backed off....1st thing I've noticed is that if I do 50mph for a few miles and start to go down a large hill I let off the throttle to slow the rpm it jerks almost like I'm hitting the brakes but its only like a split second....2nd my scooter off the line seems sluggish like a car trying to take off in 2nd gear and kinda sounds the same..... are these normal issues? I'm buying a bigger carb (26mm) from john think that will help? Also I was going to try some 10g sliders but john wasn't sure if our scooters use 18x14 or another size?

The reason it is sluggish starting off and mid-range is your weights are to heavy. Weigh the weights that are currently in there and go down 1 to 2 grams. So if the weights are say 14grams get 12grams then you can mix them so you can try all 12s or 3-12s and 3-14s for a combo of 13grams. 150s like weights anywhere from 11s-13 gram weights.
10gram weights are to light and it will cause your RPMS to rise to high and you will also loose top end speed. Too light of weights will not push out the Variator far out enough to move the belt up high. Besides you do not want to run at really high RPMS that cuts the life of the motor sooner rather than later. You want to run around 7500 rpms at WOT. The 150s make the MAX HORSEPOWER at around 7500rpms, and normally the REDLINE starts at 8000rpms.
The Braking sensation when letting off the Throttle going downhill is your motor is braking and the belt dropping some in the Variator and the Belt in the clutch pulley climbing. The sudden drop of rpms and belt shifting down in the Variator and up on the Clutch pulley will cause this. Alleyoop

I was thinking since you said 11-12g rollers that by getting sliders I should get 10g I already have 14g sliders and 12g rollers so I'll try different combos...thanks alley....should I go ahead and change the coil/cdi and plug or wait for more mileage only at 150 mileson scooter have changed gear and engine oil twice

Since you have 14g Sliders that is like having 13gram rollers. So to have a stronger pulling scoot try all 12 gram rollers, I think you will like the stronger pulling from start through the mid-range. You do not need to change the coil/cdi and or plug now get the cvt weights setup like you want then later on if you want you can change if you want. A performance CDI and COIL and IRIDUM plug will give you a little more power and you will notice it at take offs. Reason is the COIL and PLUG burn the fuel more effiencnt and the Performance CDI advances the timing for a little more UMP. All this will NOT get you any more top end just get you up to speed faster. Might try mixing 10g sliders and 14g sliders for making 12g total

Mixing to far apart weights you will not like because the TOO light of weights will do nothing for you. Only the heavier weights will be thrown out but since only 3 of them you will loose a lot of top end. Also do not mix ROLLERS with SLIDERS that will not work.
I would try the 12gram rollers you have and I think you will like that range. Going down to 10s you will loose a lot of top end and your rpms will go through the roof. But if you already have them try them and see for yourself. It won't hurt anything just watch your rpms don't let them go to far past 8000rpms. Alleyoop
