I actually thought they'd come in higher than 10K. The one thing I'm not too wild about is they're tuned for the Autobahn. If they were set up for American riding they'd be quicker off of the line. I'm sure they're fast enough though. As JCT842 often opines machines like this with the tall tunnel between the legs are kind of a hybrid motorcycle/scooter. I would say this one leans more to the motorcycle side. If that tunnel were less than a foot higher there would be no step through...just over. Beautiful machine though, I'd ride one for sure. There's a Beemer dealer in B'Ham, I'll see what he's got to say.
