as i understand the type of converter people use doesnt make that much of a difference BUT the antenna does. now i know WHERE you are is important but can anyone suggest a antenna, that is good for about anywhere. that picks up both UHF and VHF signals
also i need answers quick. thank you very much
my friend John, who is gonna watch the kids doesnt even have a tv at home. But, now, last night i decided that if he can watch tv, here, he might sit here for a couple hours at night. rather than get bored and leave the kids.He sat here for 3 hours and watched TV last night
i asked him about this for the last couple months and he always said 'naw he dont need it'. BUT now i have to jump thru my butt and get the converter box, and a antenna that works really well. and i have what ? 2 days?? hes totally incompetent, when it comes to anything TECHNICAL. so i dont want to leave it to him, hell he might not even be able to connect the box to the TV But i want him to sit here for a couple hours a day a few days a week
so please any suggestions o and i dont want to spend a ton
thanks

depends on hills but 32 miles isnt far. i live in tyrone and i can get johnstown on a small home made antenna. thats about 50 miles away and lots of hills. i would think any antenna would work for pittsburg. .

I've become very familiar with Tigerdirect.com since I started some computer repair courses. They definately have the lowest prices for electronics and are the go to people for computer components. For example, I built a 1.5 terabyte PC with 8 gigs of RAM for under $300.00! Click here to go to their TV antenna section. I use Dish Network but I have a couple friends that insist on using indoor antennas. One of them has this kind:
The other one has this type:
Scroll down the first couple of pages and you'll see those antennas as well as many others. My friends seem satisfied with them but I prefer the picture from my Dish. One thing about Tiger Direct is that they don't edit the reviews so you can get a good idea on how well the product operates.

bash tyvm, bud
i will def read that site, to gain some knowledge BUT i need to get it up and running in 2 days. so ill have to buy local , like wally world, best buy and Chrissy is way LOCKED up. , see my thread on cats run, the tent is totally surrounded by cat runs. EDIT:: O DIDNT POST CAT THREAD HERE, ILL DO THAT NOW--LMSAO but need to spend the least. i mean gee he doesnt even own a TV, so if i get one that has 10+ more local channels , maybe he will sit here, a couple - 3 days a week for 2-3 hours, that would be great, for the kids.
i also have Dish. but i have it set to cancel on the 5th. since i wont be here. my TV is always on, if just for background noise. But i dont wanna pay for Dish for 6-9 hours a week? o & BTW my TV is like 10 years old so its the ol' analog ones but thats what the box is for.
thanks for the input
