Well sputtering is to much fuel or spark not strong enough to ignite the amount of fuel it is getting at start up. Don't forget if it has an enricher that alone feeds a lot of fuel PLUS then you also have the PILOT JET feeding fuel all at the same time. You can try leaning the mixture out a little. Alleyoop

That might be the case most times but remember that those of us with stone stock bikes have all sorts of EPA crap that may or may not function to spec. Sputter can also be a lean condition caused by something not opening or closing properly. In my case the scoot is happier under some kind of load on the wheel and clutch. You would think that a free spinning wheel would charm it to death, but it doesn't. After seeing all the clean air parts Rich has removed I can just imagine what sort of stuff is going on at warm up.

Ok.. So here is the next thing.. took it to work again today.. And it seems takes forever to warm up.. I live in Florida so its not cold. The best way I can describe what's happening is it feels like its missing like in a car.. When you start out it goes.. but feels like its trying to catch up I guess. I don't know can't explain it. I would love to try to video it while im riding.. but bad enough feels like im rocking that I don't want to risk it...
On another note. My tail lights seem to be out.. (Brake lights work) head light works, dash lights all work.. just the tail lights.. does this thing have fuses for the lights??

Has to be a wire somewhere.. cause its my whole back tail lights.. The brake lights apparently work per the guy who was nice enough to stop me and tell me.. I'll have to look for the brown wire. Wish there were illustrations on this scooter...

And the SAGA continues... So its still sputtering in the morning.. but I might have to make some more adjustments... Today well stupid me decided its only cloudy I will ride the scooter to work.. Well it rained all day.. And as I left for work was a mess as it was with this thing.. So drove it home... And the front SWAYS like 2in to the left.. 2in to the right.. and I am afraid its going down.. And if it does.. well I am on busy 55 mile an hour roads where I live and work and if I go down.. im getting hit and so is the scooter... Is there any way to stop this sway or what could be causing it?? Its not a rumble.. its a sway...and with this little tired holding up about 600 lbs. (300 bike, 300 me) its crazy.. But I made it home.. white knuckles and all.. How do these motorcycle guys do it and drive 80-90 miles and hour. How are they not unsure.. I really need to turn this thing into a trike.. then wouldn't care... Lastly.. today after I got home.. There was a burning smell.. wondering if it was the muffler from the rain.. or would that be something else? Im doing an oil change and gear change this week. cause crazy me is going on a 130 mile each way trip to Tampa.. MAYBE...

The swaying is strange check your tires for low air pressure that would cause that. Other than that then something is moving in and out so check your wheels for play. Also check the swingarm that is the whole rear part that holds the tire and then connects to the front of the frame the part you sit on.
The Burning smell is not good unless it is just the muffler. Alleyoop

Its the first time I smelled it.. It smelt like burnt rubber.. I hope this dam bike is not going already.. Hopefully changing the oil and gear oil will help.. have some synthetic oil. Also gonna change out the spark plug..
As far as the sway.. im gonna check the tires.. Might just bring it to a scooter shop so they can check everything out... This is why I hate buying used.. never know what you get...

Burning rubber is NOT GOOD it could be wires that shorted out due to the water. Alleyoop

First off, this scooter is very sensitive to side gusts. When I take mine out on the interstate it gets moved around when a Robin flaps its wings. Second, ignore the smell. Mine did it too and I traced it to the rubber flap in front of the rear tire. It gets dislocated and rubs on the rear tire and stinks. I see the tail light question was answered in another thread.
Also, was the road wet when it swayed? Hydroplaning possibly?

Thanks for all the help guys.... Yeah the smell is definitely coming from that area.. its right above the muffler...
I think I helped the sway some... When I ride I tend to ride with my legs out.. More so my left leg.. So kinda makes me unbalanced.. So that was part of it.. I brought my legs in close and seems to have taken away most of that sway feeling...
Tomorrow Im working all day on the scoot... Oil Change, Gear change and valve stem change..... Fun, Fun, Fun.... But gotta say I love this scooter.. haven't even gone WOT yet and it cruises at 55 no problems..
