Wow, I started it this morning and it is back to burning anti-freeze again. Time to park it back at the dealership for good. Thank you very much for all the help. This is a great site with great help. I'm just not ready to throw more money at this scooter, prolly needs a head now. It seems it is not a reliable mode of transportation. It has about 2100 miles and I have been fixing it almost every weekend. I guess I learned my lesson with chinese scoots, going to look for a burgman now.

Sorry to hear it is now burning anti-freezehas(BUMMER). Well the burgmans are good scoots for your use look at the 400ccs they are more like the 250 scoots the 650 is the cadillac and to repair you pay cadillac prices in labor and parts(HAHA). Alleyoop

There is a 400 here for $1000 with 18000 miles, looks nice. I do my own work, so labor is no issue. I just want something reliable.

Alleyoop, I had the same problem with my Jonway YY250T an I called the Company tech and he told me to unhook the wires from the thermal switch and tie them together. I did this and the fan runs when you turn the switch and now the temp. on my bike runs right at the half way mark.Dont know if this would help ( meworrynot ).. kalee

Actually the best thing to do if you do not want to put in a new TEMP SENSOR is put in a toggle switch OFF and ON. That way the fan is not running all the time ONLY when you flip the toggtle switch to feed it 12v. So when riding and it is being cooled by the wind and the temp is not climbing the fan still not running until hit the toggle switch.
Connecting it direct like that as soon as you turn the key on it will come on and take away juice from the battery to sned to the starter to start the motor. Alleyoop

Well here is a good one for you, to make the story short I bought a 650 Executive 2 years ago with a Voyager Kit on it. But around here it is overkill so I sold it to my brother-in law. Well last summer it was overheating when idling the fan would not come on. So he took it to the Suzuki dealer and they said the ECU was bad but that was $700.00 plus installation. But what he did is put in a direct line from the battery to the fan and a toggle switch and put it on the dash. It does not start to overheat unless he is idling for a bit and he just hits the switch and the temp goes down. As he rides it does not need the fan the air is enough to cool it. Alleyoop Here are the Scoots when I had the Burgman, notice where I have my adjustable cane on the Burgman(haha), it would not fit under the seat. On my Ice Bear Trike it fits under the seat.

I hope I'm doing this right. I have the same overheating issues. I bought a new fan and radiator temp switch. I did not r/r the thermostat yet. I don't get any power to my fan even when I jump the wires from the radiator water temp switch. Does anyone have any ideas?

The component that turns the fan off and on is the thermoswitch. It's the one that screws into the radiator. To test it, put a multi set to continuity in each wire of the switch side coupler. Start the bike and let it heat up. When the switch closes you should get a continuity tone. Reattach one of the switch wires and put the multi in series in the other wire and start the bike and let it warm up. The multi should show 12v DC when the switch closes. Put a 12v DC source on the fan side and it should spin. Rich

Thanks a lot for your input. I changed that switch and the other one in the bottom of the radiator. Gonna try it out tomorrow and see if it works properly. thanks again!

I have the same issue with my Jonway 250. I am just curious, but have you changed the original brake fluid and do you notice if you have a hanging brake at all?

Well I figured out my brake issue. I had let a little Sil-Glyde slide lubricant from NAPA get on the brake cylinder and it caused it to hang once it heated up. Did a complete teardown and rebuild of my caliper and walls! Running perfect for over a month now.
