THIS IS A OFFICIAL DRIFTER CONSUMER UPDATE so what, who gives a spit. you folks may recall, i gave a warning post about bad scrappy dog voltage regulators.
it was a bit of a rant after I went going thru 4 or their break switches in one summer.
When it arrived i noted immediately it was not caulked with heat conducting goop, but instead clear house caulk, I said this would make the device over heat and burn out quickly.
About 3 weeks ago it did just that in under 4 months of service.
FOR THE RECORD I AM SURE SCRAPPY ABHORS THIS EVENT AS MUCH AS I DO.
The new one i just got from them was, filled with the proper black material
the old one has a blown capacitor, probably because the transistor over heated and blew first.
I have put a arrow to the blown capacitor, where you can see a popped cap.
if you get one of these clear caulk packed devils you might as well order a better one somewhere else.
Scrappy now is selling the black packed ones againAttachments:

drifter, do you really own a scooter? i thought you are a novelist cuz the way you construct your sentence and paragraph are so magical, your choice of words are full of fantacies and romance. how do you do that? sometimes i have to ask my co worker to translate it to me. seriously im impressed.
