My belt reaches the to pof the variator too quick and the belt shredds. Would a larger one help? I already have lighter weights on the way. Stock was 6.3gm. I tried going higher with 8. It just goes slower and doesn't rev as high.

If your belt is shredding on the sides it is climbing to high and hitting the BENDIX gear for your Electric start. You have 4 OPTIONS: 1. Get the next smaller belt if you can find one so the belt will not climb all the way to the EDGE of the Variator and hit the BENDIX. 2. Or put in lighter weights so the belt will not climb so high. 3. Or put in a Smaller Variator, a belt will only climb as high as the SMALLEST surface. 4. Or take the BENDIX out and you will have to use the KICK STARTER to start the scoot.
1,2,3 you will loose a little of the top end but not much.
A bigger Variator will not help it will make it worse. The problem is the position of the BENDIX which is right over the belt. Alleyoop

The bendix was never in the scooter to begin with. Can't be hitting it.
