A friend and I set off from LA to Lake Havasu (300 miles) for the first long road trip on my Softail. The cross wind was so bad that we were riding so leaned over that it was scary. I looked at my buddy in front of me and his bike looked like he was at a 15-20 degrees lean to compensate.
I got about 50 mpg's on the way out, but when we came back the wind was coming straight at us, and I dropped to about 38 mpgs.
I was hanging on for dear life. My whole body hurts from it.
Any stories about your worst riding conditions?

omgOSH!!!, it was just last 3weeks when we had a sand blast or wind gust here in AZ 45-60 wind...i rode my scooter to work, in the morning the sky was still calm,but in the afternoon when i was going home,it was crazy...wife and gf told me to stay at work for a while until the wind subside, i told them ahh heck it's nothing,shyet not until i braved it,,OMG, there were at least 4-6 times that the strong wind almost tipped me over,no lie...PLUS the wind slapped me with tons of dust and sand,,my neck was all red when i came home.   |
