I thought the drive boss was a piece of metal the variator sits on. It can be restricted or worn? Can someone fully explain the drive boss and its purpose and how to make it better please?

You could go with a larger diameter variator . Lighter rollers/sliders will increase your rpm .
faster turning drive gear/crank will make up some speed . The faster you will blow the engine .

The BOSS is just a piece of hard very smooth pipe that the VARIATOR slides in and out on. If they do wear the Variator may wobble a little but I have never seen that. Are you talking about this: This is the BOSS: Alleyoop Is this what yours look like OR does it have a built in higher diameter piece on it and is not one piece of the same diameter?  |
