So of course once I get the bike running decent I get another problem, but this one sounds fatal.
Its been running fine, then I noticed it going slower. I ran out of money one day and used regular. Ive always used premium. Anyway It started misfiring after a tank and a half. Like It was super hard to start and when it did I had to keep it gased for a few secs in order for it not to cut off at idle.
I played with the spark plug wire and got it to work a little better, or at least I thought I did. I bought a new cable with cdi. I just used the cable. Got a new spark plug. When riding at WOT somtimes it randomly bogs down, like it sounds as if I just hit the kill switch, then I hold it there and it randomly picks back up after sounding like it was killed at 1/4th throttle. The new cable made barely any difference.
It sounds like the time when one of the cables was loose on the cdi. I dont think its a compression problem so I havn't messed with the valves. Sounds as if it has insufficient spark.

Also, it starts like it should now, but with a little gas.
Gy6 50mm bbk/ free flow air/ stock exhaust/
When ran on stand at WOT I get nice loud revs, but the transition to that is rough unless done slowly. At WOT it will sound like im flicking the kill switch every 5 or so secs. Each time last for 1 sec or two.
The carb is relatively new, and its getting gas. Idles fine after gasing it a little on cold start.

Maybe water or trash in the gas? Just a guess but I would run some sea foam through it just to see.

Loose coil power contacts? Bad ground?

QUESTIONS: 1. Did you RE-JET the CARB when you put in the BBK and the free flow filter and exhaust? 2. If you did RE-JET what size MAIN JET did you put in? 3. What Size Carb have you got on it?
Answer all three questions please so we can determine the problem because it sounds like a FUEL PROBLEM not ELECTRICAL. Alleyoop
