i swapped out engines, and i cant seem to figure out why this one seems to not be cranking ?
heres a vid. i just charged the battery last night. the sound seems to be coming from the cvt ?

Have you checked for SPARK? Did you connect a GROUND WIRE from the frame to the motor usually on one of the VALVE COVER BOLTS. Did you also check the valve gaps before putting the motor on.
If you have SPARK take the VACUUM hose off the petcock and get a cup or anything and pour a teaspoon of gas down the VACUUM hose straight down into the intake connect the hose back up and try to start it. If all is good it should FIRE at least once but then we will know gas is not being sucked into the intake. So then we can check out the carb.

Do they crank without a ground?

Yes, they will crank without a ground it is just that the SPARK PLUG will not fire.
