i installed a new bbk on scooter it is a 2 stroke, had trouble starting it up but finally got it to start by choking the carb by covering with my hand over the carb, and that is the only way it will start and it won't idle either, the carb is new so i suspect it is not the auto choke, i did change the main jet and started with a 95 i did not change the idle jet it is getting gas the plug is wet when i check it, i tried adjusting air fuel and that has no change, could it be that the idle jet is too small causing it to not get enough fuel? or maybe a vacuum leak i did check lines and they seemed fine, the intake is new with new gasket and new reeds, compression is good almost 150, could there be something clogging carburetor even though it is new

Did you adjust the IDLE SPEED SCREW, it may be set to low.
The carb that you have on it I assume it is one with the throttle cable going into the top center of the carb. IF SO the middle screw is your IDLE SPEED SCREW turn that CLOCKWISE about 1/2 turn and see if it will idle and start. Alleyoop
