Hello, I have a TaoTao atm50, when I try to accelerate especially from a stop the scooter begins to bog down and be reluctant to accelerate as if the gas isnt making it to the engine. Ive replaces the fuel and vacuum lines, purchased a new carb, changed sparkplug and wire. Also i have noticed that there is some vapor(assuming its gasoline) in the vacuum lines... Ive also attempted to adjust the air/fuel ratio, and did a valve adjustment. Totally stumped please help!!

have you checked the fuel petcock to make sure it is working good and you are getting enough gas or not too much may be getting extra through the vacuum line and make sure the intake is not leaking also

Ive tried using a direct flow method by attaching the fuel line directly from the tank to the carb because i was suspicious of the petcock. This didnt help the problem, any suggestions of an alternative method to try? Would the air intake leak be where the air filter connects with the carb you think?

Is the scoot stock or what mods did you add to the scoot, Free Flow Filter, put holes in the air box and or free flow exhaust or bigger carb etc..?
Bogging is fuel delivery problem and or AIR LEAKS. Alleyoop

There isnt really any mods from the stock parts. Ive swapped out the carb. I believe its slightly smaller then the original, but the problems with the scooters stay constant with both stock and new carb. I also have replaces the air filter and the plastic compartment that the filter goes inside(not sure what that's called) with one that is identical to the stock, so i don't think that's the problem either.
The only real modifications ive made besides new fuel/vacuum lines, is the fuel filter. It is slightly larger then the original i believe.
How would i go about fixing or spotting an air leak

To find air leaks get a spray bottle of water and spray individual areas, by the intake manifold where it connects to the motor by the clamps where the carb connects to the intake manifold by the Air Tubing side and check your air box for any OPEN CONNECTORS that would suck in extra air. If the idle changes you found a leak. If none then it is just the carb needs to be adjusted. Since you put on a new carb did you adjust the FUEL RATIO MIXTURE? If not do that first follow this procedure: Alleyoop www.scooterdoc.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=intake&action=display&thread=1499

I tried searching for air leaks but i couldnt find any. Im a noob at this stuff so i definitely could have missed some things. I noticed what i believe to be water vapor in a few of the tubes and a breeze. ill attach a picture for better description

he air you feeling up front is because air is blowing UNDER THE BLACK SHROUD to cool the HEAD on the motor so that is normal. Vapor where your pointing to Check your oil you may have gotten water in there. I would change the oil, also if you rode it in the rain or got water in the air box it would suck it in and get into the oil. Alleyoop

Looks like the GREEN is your fuel line. Now if your tank is ABOVE the CARB in the back the fuel line should be a straight shot to the carb NO UPS AND DOWNS otherwise the carb will be starved of fuel. From what it looks like the FUEL tubing is going toward the back SO YOU have a gravity system FUEL MUST FLOW DOWNHILL. Alleyoop

Alleyoop I change the oil and made sure the fuel line was going in a downward direction. It helped a lot and i feel dumb for not doing that earlier. It still has some issues but im calling it good for the school year. Thanks for all the help! =)
