So. I see alot of pictures of scoots and they do not have a swing arm, and I also see scoots with only one shock...
My question is, do I need my swing arm or can I remove it?

I am pretty sure its called a swing arm, but just to be safe let me describe it. Its a metal bracket that bolts up to the rear wheel on the right side, and the muffler is bolted to the swing arm.

Do you mean this part?
As John said, do NOT remove it. It is an integral component of the suspension. Without it the engine would twist on bumps and have excessive lateral movement. The scooter would be unsafe and hard to control.

Yep, that's it, ok thanks for advice. I will not remove it. How about the shock connected to it, can it be removed. I'm at a weight that both shocks make for a stiff ride...

the thing of the matter is that the almighty swing arm is attach to the crankcase with two large bolts...if you happen to ran over a HUGE road crater, it might crack your chinese crankcase...it will now be a CRACK-CASE....LOL have you thought about this? remember what happened to KZ's chinese scoot? he overtighten the bolts, all of a sudden the crankcase broke in the middle, then oil started dripping... if you do it on a japanese scooty, it will break the bolt but not the crank case...
