i have had a problem with my idle last few weeks, it starts good and will idle fine for about 10 seconds then the idle keeps dropping until it stalls after that if i start it keeps doing this unless i keep the throttle up manually after it warms up the idle is great , i thought maybe auto enricher and bought a new one no change, tried cleaning the pilot jet too no change, tried adjusting the air/fuel no change the vacuum and gas lines are all good could it be an intake leak, i bought a new gasket but that didn't seem to help and checked the reeds when i changed the gasket and they looked fine no cracks or chips, or could it be time for a carb rebuild

Get a spray bottle of water and spray individual areas and see if the rpms change if they do you found a leak. The carbs are pretty simple only a few things can make them act funny. Your problem is just idle so either a AIR LEAK or the Pilot jet passage is clogged. Now If your carb has the throttle cable going down the center of the carb yours has a AIR RATIO screw on the right side near the AIR INTAKE. If you turn that screw in or out and it does nothing then the AIR PASSAGE or the PILOT JET is clogged. Alleyoop
