So I've just been for a cruise round on my scoot. I got it out of the garage and decided to put it on it's side stand whilst I got my stuff together. Then thought, no I'll put it on the kick stand and start it up to get it warm. Five minutes later of wondering why it wouldn't start... i'd left the side stand down!

Hehe, can't believe how my mind works sometimes!
From what I've seen, most in the UK have a side stand switch. I guess it's to stop people starting the engine and revving it a little and running it over. At least the back wheel is off the floor when the proper stand is used.

i disabled it on my morphous because i do lots of stops when i hop from one yard sale to another,i don't usually stay long,i just put the scoot on sidestand while engine is on,i don't leave it far tho, and nobody gets close to it, so i can say it's safe. sidestand killswitch is not applicable to my lifestyle so i took it off. i removed one bolt and loosen the other one then slide the killswitch sidewards so it won't touch the sidestand toggle when it's up...try it, you'll be happy.

I don't use the side stand , the scooter fell over on the side stand . It did not have a side stand kill switch .

Yeah, mine has fallen off the side stand too. About two days after collecting it from the dealer! I rarely use it, other than for propping it up quickly inbetween doing things. When I do use it I make sure I use the parking brake with it.
