Is there any noticeable difference in performance between a carburetor that has an accelerator pump and a carburetor that does not have one?

Are you talking in terms of the difference between a pumped or gravity fed fuel system?

The excelerator pump only squirts ONCE when you give the throttle a quick twist, so it gets enough gas to match the amount of air coming in so it does not stumble for a second or so. That is all it does. So no performance what so ever. Alleyoop

I prefer the Keihin over the Debi carb (no pump) Understand, so the Keihin has an accelerator pump and that is your preference. Is there better response with the pump?
