And check this out. www.yamahamotorsports.com/sport/products/lifestylehome/home.aspxI somehow managed to hack into the official website, plant a phony recall notice, just to fool you. Take the recall seriously Luke or you'll be a member of the Fantastic Four. Ever hear of the Human Torch? Defective rubber boats pale in comparison to leaking fuel pump seals.

I can't confirm it since I forget the source but the ill fated 110cc Elite suffered some trauma in Pennsylvania, the land of "No Chinese Bikes Allowed". Many Elites had L VIN numbers the same as Chinese scoots. Dealers in PA had to go through the tortures of the damned, the same as a common CF Moto dealer, to get the bikes titled.
Since it was Japanese bike dealers who stirred up PennDOT, I didn't feel much sympathy for them.
Now Honda is building them in Thailand.

I love my elite but she is an old model. I've not had much first hand experience with the new ones but a friend of mine has a 2010 with 4000+ miles on it.

Southern PA, maybe. You'd freeze North of Harrisburg.
The 110cc Elite is a fabulous little scooter. It just suffered from a bad cc to dollar rating. $3000 and 110cc didn't mix. That's why Honda is building the PCX in Thailand. $3500 is a little more palatable for a Japanese 150 that's highway capable.

The surviving dealers in PA fought hard against the Japanese Scooter Lobby, uhh, ignorant bureaucrats, and the Chinese scooter business is thriving. And did you call Yamaha about your fire hazard yet? Don't you have one in the house? I hope you drained out all its fuel.
