I've been away from the scooter world and this forum for a bit, riding sport bikes and a harley, but I wanted to get back to my roots and get a 50cc project. It had no spark, and since I had them already, I replaced the stator and cdi. I'm getting spark from the stator, confirmed with a shock. Ground to engine is good but still no go. I'm guessing the next step is to replace the ignition coil. I've tried several plugs but still no spark. Any tips or advice?

that's what i was afraid of, stinky. I just wanted to get a second opinion. I just really don't even want to deal with it anymore. I'm going to sell it and buy a 250cc or above motorcycle. I used to love these china scoots but this really puts a bad taste in my mouth. I only owned it for three months before this started happening.

Went out to ride the scooter yesterday and it would barely start. Once it does start it bogs down very badly and puffs blue gray smoke. I adjusted the valves, put on a new carb, adjusted new carb, and it still does the same thing. There is a very bad pinging sound coming from the engine. Any ideas? like i said, I adjusted valves to proper setting, then put a new carb on and adjusted it.
*edit* this my my wildfire 150cc scooter.

Ok! Wasn't aware of that, now I am! So at least I've learned something new so far. I definitely hear a hissing sound. I've checked all the hoses I know to check. Hmmmm. I also put some seafoam in the gas, as you advised. It's starting to seem like it might just be a clogged carb. I'll def look around again though for the source of the hissing. I really appreciate all the help, alley, and kz. Just a matter of time before we get this thing figured out

Alright, so as i was messing with the carb today i notice a hissing sound. I look under the scooter and the grass is being blown around by air coming from around the head. Now, i can't tell if it's coming from exactly. It may be the exhaust, but it seems to be coming from the beside it somewhere around the head. I've looked at all the vacuum hoses and can't seem to find any loose. I'm guessing it has to be the exhaust? Any other ideas?

It does make a bit of a sound, alley. Kind of a rhythmic pulse. Alot of noise coming from the exhaust.
When i do what you said it will just settle and run good.

I followed the guide, it will quickly climb rpms but as soon as it gets around 5x rpms it will just cut out like it's going to quit and then i have to blip the throttle to get it to recover. It does great until it gets around those speeds and then it's just like everything stops at at once.

It starts fine, idles fine. When i get going as soon as i give it more than a quarter throttle it starts bogging. If I keep it steady easy throttle it will climb to about 15mph, if i try anymore than that it bogs and just won't have it.
I'm going to dig a little deeper today and see what i can see. I did adjust the air fuel a bit but to not avail. It seems to do the same thing no matter what i do as far as that goes.

Ok, so it was a warm day yesterday and i was excited to go out for a ride. Hopped on and boom, the scooter bogs at less than 20 miles an hour. i can't break that speed either. It sat for three days, surely the carb didn't clog up in that little amount of time? It was running perfect. I've adjusted the air/fuel mix and it seems to be no change. Ideas?

I think they should build some like that as well. I've been wanting a cub or cub clone for years. Nice bikes.

Ok, I have a old yamaha at1 125 and it was in desperate need of rings. So I go through all the steps and go to kick it over and the kickstart is stuck. I thought maybe i've done something wrong and take it all back apart. Put it all back and nothing again. I push with the head off and it doesnt move. Am I right in guessing something is just jammed up or broken in the kickstart? If so what would you guys think it would be?
