Ok, so I got a meter and hooked it up to those points. Nothing. Held the brake, nothing. Held brake and pressed starter switch, nothing. The meter never once moved. Where would I go from here? To me it seems like the switch is bad. The brake lights up whenever i pull either lever, like it's supposed to.

Hey everyone! New to the forums! Just a little background before I get into asking for help. I own a Honda Elite 80, and just recently purchased a TaoTao 50cc, which is the one I'll be asking a question about. I love anything with two wheels mostly, haha. Hope to get to know some like minded people! On with my question. The TaoTao that I just picked up has some issues. I'm waiting on a new kickstart lever to arrive because the other is stipped out. We started it before I bought it, because he had another scooter and we just borrowed it's lever. But the electric starter hasn't worked in a long time he said. So, while waiting on my lever I've been messing around with it. I put a screwdriver over the solenoid and the starter turned. I took off the solenoid and put on one that I know for a fact works. But when I hit the starter nothing happens. When looking down into the engine area I noticed that there is a wire unhooked. It's dangling a little ways in front of the motor and behind the battery. Could that be causing the problem? Sorry, I know that that's a really vague way to describe which wire it is. ***I was looking back through posts and found the same wires in question. Apparently they are nothing.*** Could the switch just be bad? Anyway to test that? I appreciate any help you guys can offer. And sorry for the long winded post
