I got the enricher off and it looks like the plunger is nice and snug where it's supposed to be.

well, i'm going to assume you mean when it ran good, and that i'm not sure. The guy I got it from was kinda weird acting to be honest but I didn't pay much. So, i wasn't that worried about it.

I tried that exact method for adjusting the air mixture awhile ago. No change. I adjusted the valves yesterday and rechecked them today to be sure. I was wondering about the auto choke as well.
I also cleaned out the old gas and put fresh in.

New day, new problem with the 50cc taotao. It now will start, got all the electrical worked out, and it will not start unless i put my hand over the intake where it comes into the airbox. Then it will slowly just die out. Runs strong for about 15 seconds and then just loses all it's umph. It will continue to run if i put my hand over the intake when it gets weak. I figured it as the carb but there was the metal plug over my air mix screw. Took a small screwdriver and hammer and tapped it out. Adjusted all that and it made a little difference but never enough to keep it running at idle.
Ideas?

ok, thanks guys. it's one of the two bolts that holds what i'm guessing is a vacuum line (that metal tube that comes out of the bottom corner of the cover). There are two other bolts on each side of it. I gently started it in and got it going right. So it's back in and snug.

Ok, so i was checking the valves on the scooter and while i was putting the cover back on one hole got stripped out a bit. I didn't want to force it , so i left it out. How should i go about fixing this and would it be ok to ride for the time being? Maybe a dumb question but i'm not risking messing anything else up. Thanks!

Ok, sorry to keep adding to this but I took the front panel under the headlight off and everything looked good until i got near the bottom. There were several wires that someone has soldered together. Correct me if i'm wrong but I'm pretty sure it didn't come from the factory that way. Here is a pic, you can see the wires in question to the right just beside that light. The forum keeps turning the pictures to odd angles. Attachments:

My headlight doesn't come on by the way. Not sure if that might be related?

I went ahead and checked that point with my meter, nothing. Where up the harness is the next point to check? I really appreciate your help here!
