If I wipe the exhaust tip out and drive to town and back(20 miles both ways) its sooty enough to turn your finger black when I get home. Just dry, black carbony soot. I never see smoke just water vapor when cold. Not worrying about it, Just curious as to your experience. I'm a little rich, but that's better than lean!

Yes it is running on the rich side that is what your seeling sooty black.
But if it is running good and starts up good little rich is better than lean which can cause damage.

i didn't know you have a two stroke scooter??!!
i had a two stroke scooter in the past, gosh everytime i ride i had black soot inside my nostrills and i think probably my neighbor's nostrills too.
very smoky!
