Well I've been messing with my motor mount and have removed all of the old crappy rubber bushings and am in the process of replacing them with urethane bushings with new sleeves. Here's some pics: "dogbone" with new bushing installed and motor mount with new upper bushings installed. Close up of lower motor mount bushings removed. The plan here is to pour in liquid urethane(the stuff they sell to stiffen up auto motor mounts) around a new steel sleeve that will go from one end to the other. Haven't put new sleeves in other bushings yet but almost ready for final step. ;D

Very nice, that should get and settle some of the vibrations out of it. Alleyoop

I can't stand the fact that I've missed so many beautiful fall days of riding but I am a little closer. The liquid polyurethane and the tube for the bolt sleeves finally arrived and I had a little spare time and motivation this weekend so this motor mount project is finally nearing completion. I am really happy with the steel tube I ordered to replace all the old bushing sleeves. The originals had way too much slop but much tighter tolerance now. And on the long bolt side of the motor mount, instead of two short sleeves(one at both ends) and hollow between, the new sleeve runs from one end to the other surrounded by urethane the full length. The liquid urethane was easy to work with and hopefully will be durable(I'm still waiting for it to fully cure-directions say 70-90% cure in 2 days and 7 days for full cure). Here's some pics: just gotta press in the two top bushing sleeves and wait for cure... ;D By the way I sent you a PM Daddue a while back-ya still out there?

I've had mine finished for months now but haven't really had the will or want to to get busy on puting the mounts back on and I can't find the bolts and spacers to put it back on .. Oh no ...that's wrong I just remembered where they are. it's in the teens here now so I can't work in my carriage house now. It really just has been soo hard getting motivated , it shouldn't be too hard to do. just gotta get motivated. good luck my friend and two thumbs up.

Good to hear from ya Daddue! I know just what you mean about motivation... especially after long days at work and when, like now, the temp is f-f-f-freezin'! I don't know how much you've been checking this forum, but it sounds like Justin is havin' way too much fun with his new Burgman. I'll post some more once I get this re-engineered motor mount back in the old gal.

Yeah , I seen that about Justin (lucky so and so) lol , I'm very happy for him , he really deserves it. I just drool when I read his post and look at those pics of his Bergy. Maybe one's in our not so distant future. You never know.
