Got the RT back together today with the reengineered motor mount, fixed clutch with smaller "arm bumpers", and tried out my new contra spring. The first disappointment was the spring. Was expecting better acceleration on take off... didn't get it. Acceleration is better with the original spring so I put it back in. The second and even bigger disappointment is the fact that I still have the "death shakes" as slowing down and they're even worse. I was really thinkin' that getting rid of the rear wheel wag would solve this but since it didn't I am hoping that it's an alignment issue. Severe shakes start like clockwork as slowing down and hit 25 mph--go away if re-accelerate. I am gonna check the alignment tomorrow following the same procedure mrpalmetto used to get the front wheels parallel to the rear. Sure hope that's the ticket!

Hey brother , I know that it's disapionting about these RTs , that's why I've not been in a hurry to get my part on , because I know there's other things that will go wrong with it as soon as I get this done. But , That being said I do believe that you have alot more fortitude than I when it comes to wrenching on stuff , I've almost slowed to a stop on that kind of stuff because injuries to me body. Personally I think it would be easier to transplant this moter into the body of a 250cc with a blown motor rather than keep fixing it. It's not any buyers fault that this bike is an engineering nightmare , nothing is straight on it and even the front end metal is cheap and very bendable , I'm afraid to actually fix mine and ride it in fear another fisher price play part will give out while I'm in a precarious situation and need a safe bike. The bad thing is they costed a small fortune and now we are stuck with them because Everyone knows of their worth and no one wants to buy them. I'm pulling for ya brother and good luck.

Yes, it is sad with those RTs, just about everyone that bought one has some serious problems with them. Welds breaking on the front that hold the wheels in line, no bearings to speak of holding the A arms to the frame etc.. I have said they are not ready for prime time and the EPA should do something about it and not let them be imported until they are ready for prime time. I do not understand why they are not doing anything about it. my .02 Alleyoop
