Well yesterday I adjusted my Valves on my Trike (MY FIRST VALVE JOB--On the Scoot that is) and it was a piece of cake. Just had to take the Bottom Side cover off and it has a little side panel which is held on with one screw.
The Exhaust Valve had no gap so I adjusted it to .005, Intake Valve was a little loose actually the .004 slipped in really easy could be a little to open but I left it that way(ANY BAD HAPPENINGS WITH IT THAT WAY?)
But here is the Thing, the EXHAUST ADJUSTING SCREW HALF OF IT IS GONE the part that pushes on the Valve Stem!!
Were can I get New Adjusting Screws. Alleyoop

No I said HALF of the Adjusting Screw that actually pushs the Valve Stem is gone, so only HALF of the Screw is Actually making contact with the Stem. If I cannot just get the screws then I guess I have to get the Rocker Set which come with the Screws and Nut.
Its like if you cut the Screw in half LENGTH WISE, So it looks like an "L" where it meets the stem. Maybe that piece is logged somewhere and is the cause of my rpm loss. Alleyoop

HA! Same here in 'Bama AO, gotta keep your hand on your wallet. Better a little loose on the valve than too tight, that's my philosophy, at least it's closing. Now, where could that piece of metal be.........just as an intellectual exercise. I guess you would have seen it if it was up around the cam somewhere. It must have gone down by the tensioner.........uh, oh. Could it have got back up by the rings or is it too tight in there? Rich

Bashan, Well the Adjusting Screws and Lock Nuts are sold in Pairs for $0.75 each(WHAT A DEAL YOU YOU WOULD THINK ) ;D So then when you go to check out its $7.43 for shipping ON EACH Pair then they ADD $1.00 FOR HANDLING( ) Then on top of that since I am in Illinios they ADD $0.81 cent tax . But they have you by the hairs as they say, you need the parts and thats thats Yea maybe the piece is down in my Crankcase and or it could of blown out the exhaust and is in my Muffler , or maybe imbedded on a valve or pistion top Maybe thats the cause of my Loss Of Rpms Alleyoop
