What are you looking for the BRAKE PADS or the entire Caliper? Alleyoop

Man, you're a hell of a lot braver than me! Disc brakes do float but they are not supposed to rattle. Out of curiosity I went around my bikes and tried to rattle the caliper. The Citycom moved a little bit and had a slight click. The rest had a slight wobble but no noise. They're supposed to float on those two guide pins but not rattle. Is there grease inside the rubber boots? The pistons are also supposed to keep a little pressure on the discs. If they're backing off completely that might be your problem. Make sure there's no air in your lines. Also, if the master cylinder is defective it might let the pressure off of the pads and they retract away from the rotor. Are these the original brakes? If it was me, I'd replace the whole system with an aftermarket upgrade. It's not worth it pal, don't risk it.

Dave! Whaddup pal!? Dave has owned a scooter parts AND repair business for many years, I'd check out what he said. He's been up and down the pike many MANY times! In fact, Dave has to be at least...let's see, carry the six and add in prison time...um 107 years old! Huh?! Um....never mind. Dave's a good guy, listen to him.

Also there are O-RINGS on the two shafts that the pads slip onto those usually rot out and break apart. Alleyoop
