I was wondering if anyone had installed the yoshimura exhaust on their moped? Ive test rode the honda grom with one and really loved the sound it makes. My current. 'Oped is a peace 150,its got lots of power and is fun to ride;but cruising at around 30mph its so quiet i cant even hear the engine. Any performance boost would be a big awesome for me.

Well if you like noise go for it, but a louder muffler does not mean more power. Actually any power gain you will not even notice, you may think it has a lot more power due to it being louder but not really. The cost to power gain is negligible. Now on a V8 it does make a big difference because it has 8 cylinders that has to get rid of the exhaust fast enough so it does not hold the motor back. But on a little 1 cyl 4 banger doesn't do much but a lot more noise. Alleyoop

right. if your gonna put a more free flowing exhaust on it, your gonna need to upjet the carb. and Alley's right, when you use a exhaust like that on it all it will make it is louder, now if the muffler you got now was falling apart inside and things were getting blocked up then it would make a difference. me, I like quiet power. on my yellow scooter its so quiet, the loudest noise is the belt and gearing, you can hear the exhaust, but its more of just a rapid puffing noise than anything else.

Ditto on the above. I have a yosh complete system on my CRF50. Its throaty and thats about it. Current systems are outsourced. The only way I could afford the system was to trade the road rep a RMZ250 display piston for a CRF50 display system. Looks very cool if you can justify $$$ to coolness

Ive got one on mine
Its loud that's all I can say but with the right carb setup, works well. For the noise... as much as I liked the sound from it, was abit too much so I found a good thing to silence it..
Found a BMX bike stunt peg laying around, cut it in half and tapped it in with a hammer. Works like a charm and still flows very well.
It may sound puttery at idle but at higher revs it has a nice sound especially if you have an intake setup, both mix well together for sound and have found my scooter has increased pickup during mid range to top end with the yoshimura

Also to, lighter roller weight setup would help to. My original ones were 14g, after few changes ive changed to 11g slider weights using stock variator. I mainly ride in 60km/h zones and some inclines so ive set my scooter up how i like it. Carb is stock and have changed jets to 38 pilot and 125 main, thats also because of the 160cc rebuild, may need to up size the main but its running really well as it is
