So I have a Peace Sports 150 and it seems as though when im cranking it the engine pops backward for a second then continues along again. As in I can visually see the magneto spin clockwise clockwise clockwise, then BOOM! Counter clockwise for a split second and ofcourse entire scooter shakes. I have checked and rechecked my timing even visually moving piston to TDC and adjusted valves accordingly. (2 on the side big one facing out) I dont get whats going on. I cant change the fire mark on the magneto. I just dont understand why Its kicking like this.

Where is the Case Marker pointing to on the Timing Marks on the Flywheel when you have it a TDC? Can you take some pics of Cam Aligned and the Flywheel at that point. I sounds like the timing is to advanced. Alleyoop

Do you have some miles on it or did it run low on oil? A worn connecting rod or piston rings can let it "slap". The starter tries to advance but the little bit of slack lets that initial ignition push it back. You can overcome that by advancing the crank just past full compression with the kick start. You can feel it, just push slowly until you feel it roll past compression. The above issues are also valid concerns.

He has it timed to advanced he is on ITISTHERIDE as Drango and put up pictures of his timing. I told him how to get it back in time with pictures and where to line up the timing marks. He came back and now timed it TOO retarded between the "T" and "F" BUT he then said he did not have his exhaust on. He moved the chain two links I had told him 1 link and to put the exhaust on otherwise he will have a hard time starting it and burn out his exhaust valve. Alleyoop

Well turns out the WOODRUFF KEY was sheared off and the timing would change causing his problems. Alleyoop
