New to the forum, so hello all!
Sorry if this has already been covered, but I can't find much solid information about this issue.
So the main issue I'm having I have I'm fairly sure I have figured out. Just bought a new agm battery for the scoot. Came pre-charged, witch I've never seen before... But hooked it up, worked great for the day. Tried to take it out for one last ride, and it barely had enough juice to start. So I've come to the conclusion that I have a bad stator and/regulator. I dont have a a multi meter, and dont really have the cash for it ATM, so without that, is there any way to tell which one is bad? In the meantime I ordered another kick start idler gear since the last one was completely wrecked. So at least I won't have to worry about getting stuck at work at 2am...
Which brings be to issue #2 Dim headlight... I didn't notice this until last night when I was riding and all of a sudden the headlight got really bright. It just flickered bright White for a second or two, then back to the dim orangish color it usually has. Did it again tonight like twice, and actually stayed bright for almost a minute. I dont believe this to be a bad connection as I purposely hit a few good chuckholes while it was both dim & bright to see if it would switch back, and it didn't. Seems completely random. This is the main issue I'm looking to fix as once I have the kick start functioning, I can live without a fully charged battery for the electric start. I have a battery tender I use at night to keep the battery charged. I just need to have my headlight working correctly in the meantime. But all of this together leads me to lean forward the regulator/rectifier just because of the light. I thought it was the stator before this. But honestly, I'm clueless at this point. Any help at all will be greatly appreciated..
PS. Another reason I doubt faulty wiring is this is a 2012, and everything still looks completely new...

Yea, I'm going to order the r/r since its only $8 anyway. I'll post back when I get it and/or test it with the meter.

Regulator came in, and seems to work OK. Seems like it's giving the battey a charge, but won't know until I drive it more. And the headlight doesn't flicker.
Problem is, its only marginally brighter than before when it was dim. So idk if that's just how bright its supposed to be, or what. But its just barely enough to drive with lol
