Sorry to jump in on this thread, I don't know how to ask my own question! I am not at all mechanically minded it's just I am losing the will to live with my sons scooter! It is a direct bikes 50cc DB50QT11 It has just been to a mechanic for 4 days and in the end the problem was supposedly the cdi or ecu unit. Got a new one, it started up but then went off and wouldn't start up again. Thought it was a faulty new part so tried another one, and thought it was fixed. He's just been for a little ride and it now won't start again. It is not starting on the button or the kick start. It has had a new plug and the mechanic is supposed to have checked over the electrics. Please help, I haven't got a clue what we can do?! It turns over on the button but will just not start. Any ideas?

First off WELCOME TIM, good to have you on the forum,I moved your post from the other thread so your problem would not get lost. You now have your own thread for your problem. If you can do some testing we will find out what the problem is and get it fixed.
1. Make sure the killswitch is on the run position, it could have been hit to off by accident. 2. Some scoots also have a killswitch on the side stand make sure the kickstand is up.
3. If all that is good, Take the spark plug out or if you have a spare one out it in the BOOT CAP and hold the plug against the motor and crank it over and see if the spark plug is fireing. You should see nice blue sparks. 4. If it is sparking then TAKE YOUR FINGER and stick it in the spark plug hole and just hold it nice and snuge and crank the motor over. It should lift your finger out of the spark plug hole.
Get back on the above tests with answers and results. Alleyoop
