Man did mods all through this scooter just like folks do to the cheaper Chinese scooter, poor mirrors, lights, plastic poor and latest reviews on the newer ones the same, plastic looks cheap and second class.
One would expect this on a $1500 250 but at $4k? I can buy two of the 250's and still stay under $4k. He also said in no way did it stack up to the Kymco 250 and that's expected, Kymcos are class at it's best but not cheap.
What I like about this review is it's a owner, typical rider, not someone who is doing a review because they were sent one to keep for reviewing it which are never very telling.
Since it was compared to a Kymco I found one of the comparison rating sites to see if a one to one comparison could be found?

i couldn't wait to get the canoe paddle mirrors off of the et4,,didn't have to mess with the signals as they are in the body or they would have left too,,,as far as the fit and finish goes they are less expensive and they show it

Yea he mentioned the mirrors and he also mentioned cooling problems, dealer picking it up for that and the never ending battery parasite drainage that Moto never fixes, even Rich put a main disconnect on his rather than keep the scooter on a trickle charger all the time or like this guy said, if it sits for more than a week unhook the battery. I rode my 250B in November last year and about 2 weeks ago and while the battery wasn't real hot, it did start, not bad for sitting that long, but I also have a quality battery.

CfMoto US = ATV, UTV no scooters, Jetmax = foreign market. Since no jetmaxes are here no dealer listened to anything about them here.
Not one thing in that article mentioned anything about fixing anything, it was a show, nothing more. So they listen? If they were indeed listening then the review in 2010 this man wrote about the poor things on the jetmax should be fixed now yet last years reviews still noted poor plastic and other similar flaws.

Hmmm. Let's see what was said about the latest Jetmax. www.justgottascoot.com/cfmotojetmax.htmDon't let my comments on the fit and finish make you think I didn't like this scooter. I did. It was mechanically impressive. At under $4,000, one can't really expect this scooter to compare directly to a Honda or Kymco. As far as I'm concerned, CFMoto made the right choice to put their resources into the mechanicals. If I were buying a JetMax, I'd replace the tires with something better and upgrade the rear shock absorbers. I know there are quite a few people out there who would prefer to get a new scooter as opposed to something used. The CFMoto JetMax gives that buyer a good choice in the sub-$4,000 area. As with ANY scooter, having a good local dealer is critical. Here in the Minneapolis/St. Paul area we are lucky to have places like GoMoto and people like Marty who are serious about customer support. No complaints about mirrors and the slight issues from that 2010 model. It sounds like a great buy to me.

Nice try, but I know a whiner when I see one. Let's review Two years ago I purchased a Lexmoto 50cc scoot for my son, (even after being warned against it) from a dealer.... True to form when things started to go wrong, they avoided putting anything right under warranty... 11 months later - scrap the scoot...
Oh boo hoo. Plus read your own supposed knock. Then once bitten, you guessed it, I tried another Chinese bike dealer, to replace his ride. This time I thought spend a little extra and get a "decent" set of wheels for him... This time an AJS 125 cruiser...
Oh dear, when things went wrong - the dealer dances around the issues... The alarm bells started to ring with the first problem of a failed "neutral switch "... Dealer reply "well do you really need to know when you are in neutral"..... Double Boo Hoo. Baby! Perhaps if you guys in China have a way of letting CFMoto know of my plight, I would be grateful. In the early days I sent "inquiry" emails to them - not one single reply.........Sure, if he bothered to mention what the problems were. This is just like Luke condemning all Chinese scooters because he couldn't PDI and get his SunL running. I'll take Dave Harrington's recommendation. He's ridden a lot more scooters than we have.

JR, sorry about changing the subject but, I sure would like to know who the dancing girl avatar is. She has a striking resemblance to my ex-wife, 40+ years ago.
Hope I don't have dreams tonight.

As usual you leave out details:
Good to know you know whiners, in the south we say Peas in a pod.
I would say there are a lot of people in that boat, nothing new about dealers who sell Chinese scooters doing this to people especially people who leap before they look? How many people right here on these forums warn unknowing people about this very thing? So he goes from cheaper, to less cheap and then not so cheap and has got burned 3 times? I'd say since they are all Chinese scooters he should have learned his lesson the first time. JR

I don't have a clue to who she is but it does remind me of this.

Didn't you mention that the dealers were listening? This is a 2011 review, same problems in 2010? They are still being reported in 2013. How long does it take them to listen?
There's that old Japan and Taiwan thing again by a trusted opinion.
So in his opinion the mechanics are good but for $4k the rest of the scooter needs to be upgraded? So why not spend under $2k for good mechanics and then upgrade?
And how much did Dave's opinion reflect this? Who is We've? Oh yea Marty.
I would jump too if a scooter given to me was involved no matter what kind it was.
That's the way the old advertising game works, I'll scratch your back, you scratch mine.
