I have noticed that only one of my many suppliers offers a 250cc scooter....and I'm not sure if they actually have them or not.
I assume Roketa/Goldenvale still has them, Jonway derivatives, but have only found one other, Red Streak, advertising with a Znen built model.
Discuss amongst yourselves.

Scooters, in my opinion, are become dichotomized. Some clown sold me an overpriced SYM maxi scooter and got me to thinking about this. The maxis are not scooters, they don't scoot, they haul arse. And like JCT 842 says, if you don't step through it's not a scooter. I agree. My SYM has a large elevated connection from the seat forward. I have to swing my leg over it albeit from the front. Still, it's no step through. My SYM is typical of most of the larger displacement "scooters", you don't just step through and buzz off looking like Hepburn. I tried....I got arrested. People either want a Hepburn, or a maxi that will keep up with e-way traffic so you don't get killed. My SYM will pop 90, I'd take it on the e-way no problem. If a rider doesn't want that they want the campus type scooter to buzz around side streets or go to the store. There's nothing wrong with either mode of travel, it just seems we're being pulled in two directions. By the way, I don't think maxis should even be called scooters...they don't "scoot". The big boys should be called hybrids, JMO, Rich.

If I'm not mistaken...JCL is out of business, at least their phone is disconnected.... and the scooter that EVOSales sells is designated a Linhai in its url but a XINGYUE in the description...either way it's " on back order". ( For giggles... scroll down the EVO page and read the reviews)
As for the Linhai's, I don't believe Ron at Sunright has brought in any current year 260's since 2010.
BTW... I just purchased a 2007 Burgman 400 with 16K miles off of a walk-in....so that's MY ride for the season!!!

If I remember right Pete, the last time I talked to Tom he said it was some lady's bike and she wanted to get rid of it. It was pretty much pristine......I hate him.

Could be right on the linhai 260, know the 300 is still out, saw one just the other day and it's just a glorified 250 at 275cc. JCL's? Put my hand on one this past Christmas at the place I said, don't know about out of business but someone has a supply of them? And at that time JCL was the only scooter they had from 50 to 250cc.
www.arkansasatv.us/scooter The JCL 250A was identical to my wifes and my 250B. Don't pay any attention to the reviews if I buy one from anyone I tear it apart and go through it myself. Reviews are for people who don't know anything about them and for people to sell them. Kind of like the BBB, all can be bought.

The big boys should be called hybrids, JMO, Rich. That's because those who build scoots insist on making them more and more like cycles. Huge displacement and the weight that goes with it, lack of step thru etc. I agree not scooters as we knew them. That's why I love my SYM RV200. Fast, step thru and lite enough to still "scoot". Unless you got ripped the Citiicom is a great deal in its class, that would be the maxi class as you know ! Be Big, AMAC
