The local weather guy just said there are cells on the ground too numerous to count. They may be E4 or E5. If they're not a tornado they are packing 100 MPH winds in front of them. He said if you live in western Bama it is too late. If you live in the Birmingham or central Alabama region you should take cover now before it's too late. I'm fixing to go get our parrot and the three of us are getting into our basement saferoom. I guess we'll find out just how safe it is. Wish us luck, Rich

We're in the saferoom, I'm writing from a laptop. Looking at Intellicast.com I think that guy was a little cranked on coffee. It looks VERY nasty but I don't think as bad as he was saying. We will find out in about 30 minutes. We can already see lightening and hear thunder. They closed the schools and sent the kids home at lunch. Rich

I was out riding around here earlier and it was really windy. Hope your weather man was wrong we wouldn't want to ruffle feathers. By the way what flavor parrot is he? I had an African gray for about 25 years or so. john

She is an Indian Ringneck named Cleo:
She is 23 years old and the smartest bird I have ever been around.
The weatherman was full of it.... I swear these boneheads make money off of scaring the snit out opf people. Rich

Rich you know while you was on the phone with me last night two cities in Arkansas were un-piling and still are, 14 lives lost and a total now of 19 since this storm just hit Mississippi: news.msn.com/us/us-storm-system-kills-19-tornado-hits-mississippi-cityThis storm stalls then regains strength, better to cuss the weatherman and be safe with that ugly chicken than blow them off and end up a cooked goose! Yeah....tell me about the generator blowing up! Somebody is writing a cosmic bad novel about aliens tormenting an Earthling and I'm the main character! Not the alien...the poor sap Earthling. Rich

Well jack you were right, they fired back up and there's a tornado on the ground south of us, one up north of us, one in Tenn, and one west of us. I'm fixing to go upstairs, wake the wife up, and head for the saferoom again. It's hailing again and the thunder is non stop as is the lightening. We're good...this house is safe. Rich

Call me sometime this a.m. if ya have a chance, not big deal if you don't. Mississippi got pounded too, 11 lost lives, total went back up in Arkansas to 15, total on this whole storm = 28 and it's headed to Georgia today, it's not over folks.
Warm muggy, for last 5 days, this a.m. windy and 55F and cloudy. Feels good.

Got about three hours sleep. There's power out all arounf B'Ham. There's debris all over the neighborhood....mostly tree stuff. All the schools are closed. They're digging some people out of some apartments west of here. I wish I could say it's over but the actual front is supposed to come through at 3 PM and the over excited kid is back on the weather saying he thinks it will be worse than yesterday. Apparently they don't think he's so full of it today. I'm trying to reach somebody in Talladega and make sure my business is OK. There's roads closed, flooding, it's not over. I feel like crap. Rich
