Yes it is a 2 STROKE and the CDI is no longer avaliable for that scoot. I did find one but it's a DC CDI. Alleyoop

That would work, we could wire it to the battery and lose the AC feed from the present stator. That would leave the magneto coil dormant but at least the CDI would work. You could actually rectify the magneto coil on the AC stator and use it to help charge the battery with the white wire, or it's equivalent on the bike. If you tried to merge two supply AC circuits it could be problematic. But once rectified, the DC is just water flowing down a pipe, pour some more down it and it takes it, if it can, all the way to the battery. Two AC circuits could conflict although it would probably be OK. I mean, that's what a two and three phase stator is, phases running right behind each other. But they are perfectly synched, I'm not sure how that would work with a single magneto coil working with a center tapped stator. Maybe Jack has some input on this. However, Plant Guy you should do some testing on the present CDI and stator to make sure it's the problem. Rich

I looked at the wires running up to the boot, and the White/blue wire comes from CDI, goes to the boot, and then to the spark plug. Dear god, what if the wires for this thing ARE GY6 equivalent? Because that wire matches! Somebody pull up the GY6 CDI diagram!!

Okay, so we have established that while the wiring is different, the first thing we need is a GROUND. There doesn't appear to be a ground on it? I touched a positive probe to a battery and the negative probe to the engine/frame and I couldn't get current to flow from the battery. Or is that a bad test? Either way the stator isn't putting our voltage.
