Ok never experienced this. I was having an oil leak and was in the process of replacing oil pump. I was also replacing the jug and head. When the bottom chain guide came out I noticed a hole right where the bottom guide would sit.Very strange! Anyone ever run into this and can I possibly repair it. Taotao 80cc

Let me give a little history... We lost compression so we installed a big bore kit to restore compression. Piston was black when we took it out and installed new piston rings and head. After installing still wont start. We will take a picture of camshaft and flywheel and post it. If timing is good where to go from here?

The boltsthat hold the rockerarm assembly were loose. I tightened them now engine turns over but wont start. Im thinking it could be timing though i have set it a few times maybe off a link or two on camshaft. Any ideas?

Ok so update..... Had some bolts loose tightened them now it turns over but still wont start!! Fuel is not an issue checked that. Have good combustion and spark any idea why it wont start?

Hello i have a 2014 taotao gt5 50 cc scooter. I am wanting to purchase an upgrade kit to an 80cc. Not sure what i need included in the kit and what diamater?

No I haven't but was thinking muffler as well. Not familer with mufflers so what exactly should I look for?

That's what I thought! Ever since they did that the idle goes up and down and when taking off wants to die! Also I have a noise coming from scooter like air escaping.

But when I first accelerate it takes off then it starts hesitating and bogging down.

I mean they had recently done a 80cc kit about 2 months ago and for whatever reason they had to install it again along with replacing the head. Also I used to have a evg or evr not sure of the correct name but one of those type of valve covers that look like a lock on the front. Well they broke that part off but they didn't block it off.

Update.... Had to have a rebuild. Compression was at 60! So this is my question I have... They put double gaskets on the head they replaced. But the scooter is having issues where it feels like a vaccum leak, a lot of hesitation and bogs down a lot sometimes stalling!! Is it OK to put two gaskets on the head? I would think it wouldn't seal very well. Thoughts?

Compression I don't have a meter to measure that is there any other way to do it? My cdi was not the problem I had thought of that too

I have a 2012 taotao was a 50cc bored now to a 80cc. After about a week it started suddenly having a hard time starting. I have replaced the carb I have changed the main jet and idle jet. New fuel filter new cdi new spark plug getting spark. Just turns over and won't start!!Also did valve adjustment and timing. What gives!!!!
