I'm calling cdi went wonky and is not firing on time or somehow someway the flywheel has moved and time has been lost,,, my .02c thanks, i thought so too just didnt know if this was possible(cdi), trying that next, didnt feel any flywheel play but i guess it doesnt hurt to pull it and check it if i can find my flywheel puller

Dom , Please just listen I would like to share a thought here . You have a no start , you need vacuum to push fuel up to the carb . With your set up without vacuum to operate the fuel pump your dead/done . I suspect if you crank your engine fill the fuel filter and carb bowl . I bet it will start if you have spark . After you fill everything up and it still won't start then prime it . When I trouble shoot a problem I undo what I do so not to create more problems . To me parts are cheap enough that at the very least you should have primary spares . Coil , cdi , solenoid , spark plug and fuel filter . I would like to see you do as you did in the video , but have the filter and bowl full of fuel first . So prime it put the hose back and crank it . John John as i tried to relay in the other two posts I ONLY had it unhooked because I was following someones suggestions to empty carb bowl, and spray carb spray into the throat, and I THOUGHT that we were trying to get it to kick over off of the carb spray alone- NEVERTHELESS, i have tried it with the hose attached(and keep it that way normally, i only took it off for that short video) it pumps fuel readily to the carb with that hose attached, no need to prime it(although i have, to be sure), its fuel-filled after only a few cranks even if i drain it completely through the bottom of the float bowl. Spare coil/cdi/fuel filters on the way, spare spark plug, spare solenoid, and spare RR in the parts bin now, need a spare belt as soon as the darn thing runs ill order one

yesterday while rechecking valves for the hell of it i stripped a head bolt, will tap larger and replace soon, seemed to have a good hold despite noticeable spinning in place if i tried to tighten it so i left it for the time being, today i noticed some oil under the scoot dripping from near the exhaust, my first thought is that its a result of me screwing up the bolt but it doesnt look like its coming from there, nevertheless i plan on removing exhaust so i can get this engine shroud off and see the source of the leak, could any electrical components allow me to have spark but w/ incorrect timing?(and is a 50cc stock cdi the same as the 150s? was gunna part-swap one from my friends scoot if they are) also i just got a good look at the fuel filter i put in just the other day, holy hell should never have tried to save a trip to the parts store(or shouldve atleast stuck with brand name), got a no name filter off ebay and its literally falling apart, scoot barely pumped any gas thru this thing i have an actual fram one around here somewhere ill put on, throwing out the other ebay ones now, what a cruel joke disentegrating fuel filters are..

tvnacman single port, for the video i didnt hook it back up because i thought we wanted to see its reaction on carb spray alone without gas flowing(but i did try it with it hooked back up, not on video, with SAME resulting weak noise.. only difference being that fuel flows through the line/filter when vac hose is attached of course ), also routed around the filter because it was suggested, but filter or no filter I get good fuel flow(with vac line attached) So you have a vacuum fuel pump? Pull the line off of the carb and crank the motor, see what kind of flow you get out of the supply line. yes ^, ive done that, i get good flow, gas squirts out as i crank it

tvnacman youre right i didnt recap it that time, ive done the same test but with the hose put back after i squirted some in(didnt this time because I assumed since i had emptied the bowl and sprayed the carb spray that we didnt want fuel refilling) like i said i have tested it the other way too(and will recheck just to be sure),back again retried no luck, also tried with hose coming directly from petcock to carb(have to unbolt my tank and hold it up high if i want to gravity feed, my tank is mounted below my carb, (clear hoses(along with the testing i did before) makes it easy to see i have good fuel flow from petcock), more muffled pops(ill try again once its got a better charge but they werent very promising pfft's, plug smells like gas whenever i pull it, dont think its actually been WET at all but i dont really know what counts for wet and what doesnt when it comes to a plug

It happened a few months ago so I cant remember honestly(was right in the middle of moving, sorry for my stupidity) the motor is pretty new, only a couple hundred miles on it at most, wanted to clean carb because it sat for a few months and i knew it needed it, WHEN IT WAS RUNNING it ran fine until suddenly not working---(OR....I have 2 scooters) , again sorry for my stupidity here, but I cant keep them 100% straight, one of the scooters started to die if you gave it too much throttle, if you let off it would recover, if you failed to let off quick enough it would die and be difficult to start,I read this is due to incorrect exhaust valve lash, I personally had guessed it was running rich somehow(local motorcycle shop unplugged the enricher when fixing THIS SCOOT(100%certain) a long time ago when it had its original engine in, once i understood how the enricher worked, and confirmed that mine did in fact work correctly, i theorized this may have been the root of the possible too rich issue at speed, but like i said im not sure it was this scoot that had that issue, I THINK this is the other scooter, and not this one, but I included it incase it is this one and someone recognizes the issue right away) Stopped running(months ago) before i installed new carb, i had hoped a good carb cleaning was all i needed(that turned into replacing the carb while i fiddled with extracting the screws that didnt wanna come out...and that carb was clogged as hell)(switched old carb back on after cleaning just to try it, no dice) has yet to run with new carb, set a/f at 2.5 turns out(also tried at 2 turns out) should be fuel/vac leak free, all hoses are new(vac too) Changed the coil(had no choice, took it off to try it on the other scoot and never put it back,no longer near other scoot), fuel and vac lines, and carb have all been changed SINCE it stopped running, no part changes were made shortly/immediately before it stopped running thanks for the help guys

tvnacman sorry for not including that, set intake at .004" and exhaust at .005" , spark is light blue, flywheel feels solid and i didnt notice and play as i cranked it a few times w/ elec started, as far as pops/kickback no i dont think so the only noise i got it to make other than cranking noise was when i said it "putzed" a couple times like a muffled popping noise, and cyborg ill try it but i expect it should be fine its brand new gas.........burned how id expect gas to burn(shop towel burned slow and controlled til it reached the gas then the flame engulfed the towel)

Hey guys, Ive been reading through looking for a solution to my problem with no luck. I have compression of 150+, fuel is pumping to carb(carb is brand new-replaced it when i went to clean the old one only to find out it had smooth headed screws in that were meant to be non-removable, i removed the screws but I already got this new one installed so that's another story), air filter had small amount of some kind of clean oil on it, doubt its related but i don't wanna leave anything out, i washed that well and it looks and feels like a brand new filter(as it should, its not an old filter at all), Ive pulled the plug and checked for spark against the head, it looks good. Set Valve clearances correctly (fuel is new, fuel lines are new, fuel filter is new) Was unable to start it w/ carb spray being shot into the manifold nipple or gas squirted into the cylinder through spark plug hole Best sound it gave me(IMO) was when i had fuel unplugged from carb and rerouted right back to gas tank(to check fuel system flow) it gave some putz's like it wanted to start(but i tried this for some time with no luck so i don't think it was flooded and then recovering) Tried starting with gas cap off, no difference tried jump starting, no difference Not sure what else to even check right now I appreciate any ideas or direction you all can give, thanks
