I have a chance to get a great deal on a 2007 Honda Elite 80 in great condition. I really like the look of these scooters. But according to the manual they have tube type tires, which would make it a no go for me. I need tubeless tires so I can plug a punctured tire and ride it home. I have heard about people putting tubeless tires on the Elite's stock wheels with no tubes. Has anybody done this? Does it work? Thanks for any information.

Hi, my name is Jerry. I am new here. I have an '09 Genuine Stella 2T with 9800 miles on it, which I dearly love. However, I have developed rheumatoid arthritis over the past few years, and it has gotten to the point where shifting and clutching is very painful. I also have fibromyalgia, and the seat is also extremely uncomfortable. But no way am I selling this scooter. I love 2 strokes, and it is possible that I may be able to ride it again. I bought an SYM HD200 EVO CVT scooter to ride. Not nearly as much fun as the Stella, but no shifting or clutching, and a much more comfortable seat.
Now to my question. What to do with the Stella. What I want to do is drain ALL of the gas out of the tank and carb (we have ethanol gas here) and fill it up with kerosene as a preservative. I know how to do the carb, but what is the best way of dealing with the tank? How much gas will be left in the tank if I disconnect the fuel line from the carb, set the petcock on reserve, and let it drain. If it won't all drain out, can I remove the fuel gauge sending unit, and feed a long narrow piece of cloth down through the opening to soak up the rest of the gas? With both the gas cap and fuel gauge removed, I will be able to see the bottom of the tank with a 2AA MagLight, to see if there is any gas left.
Next questions are, is it ok to leave the oil in the injector tank? It is about 3/4 full with BelRay blue injector oil ($20 a qt) And lastly, is there anything I can do to help protect the crank seals from drying out and cracking? The scooter will be stored indoors, in my living room. Right now I don't know for how long, but it could be awhile. Bad battery has already been removed and thrown away. Thanks for any information you can give me. Jerry.
