Yeah I tried that it does blow your finger off. So i think my whole problem was a starter that was going bad and an intermitten coil. Tried the coil with out the cap didnt work and just the cap on my old coil didnt work either had to replace both. It turns over much better with the new starter too.

Thought I would post an update. I went out riding the scooter started fine but had a bad misfire. Change the coil and cap runs great now. While i was at the shop the guy says lets check your compression for the hell of it. his gauge said 60psi. wondering if thats true because now it starts fine runs good and idles good. the power seems fine. If it was really 60psi I would think it wouldnt do that

Been busy at work so I am just getting back to the scooter. I may have it fixed I hope. Just cant believe what fixed it. Replaced the starter now it starts perfectly. I have started it 20 times and it cranks every time. Could the starter have been going bad and shorting something out?

Oh I understand what you are talking about just looked right when I put the flywheel on the t timing mark. My eyes arent as good as they used to be though so I am going to take pics of the cam and flywheel tomorrow and see what you think. Right now I am willing to try anything. Thanks so much for your help.

Will do tomorrow too dark now. The cam has been changed it has several holes in it not just the 3. The little holes look even with the block to me but I could be wrong.

Just did what you said Alley. It didnt try to fire. Took the plug out and it was dry and a little black. It has never started on this plug just put it in an hour ago guess that is from flooding it with the throttle earlier. I have cleaned this carb at least 3 times and it was spotless all the holes in the jets were clear so would this be wrong jets, trash in carb or just a bad carb I know you said earlier my pilot was too small since i was getting the best idle at about 1 turn on the mixture screw

Changed the plug and jumped the solenoid no difference. It came close to starting the headlight was even coming on. Noticed the starter starts turning slow when working the throttle to work the accelerator pump. Could flooding be making the starter spin slow? If you dont work the throttle it spins fast like it should but doesnt try to fire unless you work the throttle a little to get gas to it.

Ok I went out and tried to start the scooter this morning and it still wont start. I dont think this is related but I thought id throw it out there. When it turns over it turns slow. It will turn normal for a couple revolutions then slow then normal again. It has done this before too. It doesnt have a kick start. I thought it was from the added compression from the big bore kit. I have redone the grounds and positive battery cable with heavier gauge wire and hooked it up to a brand new 150 cold cranking amps mower battery until I figure everything out. Had the original battery tested it checked good. I lubed the bendix, Even took the starter apart and cleaned the commentator. I have had a battery tender plugged in to the new battery. It doesnt seem like this would be related but during my mystery 4 days of good starting I didnt have this problem either. Ready to pour a gallon of gas on it and light a match!

Think ill try a carb like Alleyoop suggested when im off work on Wednesday. I dont doubt the jets are probably not the right size. It just dont make since that it would start perfectly for 4 days then go back to this problem again if it was the carb. If the stator was going bad is it possible it would run good when started but be hard to start? Right now i cant get it started it just sputters a little like it wants to start but doesn't.

it will fire like it want to crank but cant get it going at all today. tried a different plug no luck. I guess it could be getting to weak of a spark from the coil. I dont have a spare here but i borrowed one a couple weeks ago and it didnt help so I gave it back to the guy.
