I dunno if the assy is lighter than the cover, I did fail to mention the cover Does provide Rigidity to that cyclops case. That Stainless Steel backing plate provided is even more rigid than the cover and i like that. The outer plate is Aluminum and doesn't weigh anything. You saw the weight difference in the two Vari plates of 30.34 grams thats more than a ounce of revolving but the engine doesn't have to move that air in that fan and that freed up a little available hp. Its very quiet kinda make a slight whistle like a turbo charger.

The only reason we have a cover on the CVT is to keep general publics fingers out, the friction of the belt make allot of heat, heat is the enemy of the Belt. So now that we have a cover on it now we have to add cooling via the Vari fan, that cover is vented with a snorkel up front and a big drain out the back, I've filled them up with water plenty of times on my dive trips so the cover and its gasket isn't really keeping out any debri out it actually keeps all that nasty abrasive belt dust in.. My NC roads are pristine, my scoot has never and has no reason to see wet roads, no dirt roads and I run the Ankle Biter setup, got rid of the heavy hp robbing fan and whole bunch of heat, saved a bunch of revolving weight= frees up available hp and efficiency to my Scoot. I have no children or pets around to get there fingers in there just beware you Can.. Yes that a zip ty holding the clutch bell on there a story behind that..

Hers that fancy shmancy coated Vari with under fifty miles on it. I knew at first glance the coating was a cheap teflon type and wouldn't last any amount of time but jeeeez. And these ar the rollers frm that same vari, you can see how clean they still are but flat spotted already.

Is this the normal on Chinese scooters or all others as well? Yup, 50's, 150's in GY form.. Its a constant wear item, I accept it as part of the game.. As a avid Diver I have rented these in the Tropics for many years before I purchased one for myself in addition to the other two wheel vehicles I own, in the rainy seasons it could rain several times a day and the locals gotta get to work and the Divers gotta go dive and out to dinner and with the islands being at near sea level you ride thru flooded streets every day, and those flooded streets its not just rain water but rain mixed with salt water and sand, just add to the expense of ownership a new Vari every six months or so. they are cheap. In those conditions Ill take a conventional modern chain and sprocket setup.

Here is my Vari with the rollers in it, see all the powder? Click then magnify it to see the flat spots. This was last fall at the end of the season, I could tell by the way it was acting I needed service. I will service earlier this year.

Yup normal wear. I have a 150 and service my CVT every fall or sooner and theres all kinds pf flat spots, I find the more I service and clean the assy the more they roll and get slat spots. I just accept it as the nature of the beast.

Get rid of the so called abs,,,it's more like plain oldie BS anyways,,, The kit I'm looking at, has it already. Would you recommend I remove it, anyways? I’d also get a NGK plug instead of the Autolite. I'll definitely keep the Autolite as a backup. Anything to ditch the China plug. I looked into the part number of NGK, wasn't it CH7HSA? Or something like that? I did look it up, but I didn't really remember it because the kit is bought came with a plug. I didn't think it would be that bad... That kit came with the plug wire(DOA), stator, and plug. ~ Junior Yes throw the Fake ABS as far as you can, Its really not ABS only a Hydraulic Check Valve to Dump a pressure spike, as far as I'm concern it Dangerous.. just replace it with a normal Banjo Bolt..

That hose is the Rear Gear Final drive Vent hose... It just hangs and vents thats all. See the hose on my GY 150. click on the image to see better I just stuck mine in the unused second location for a rear shock bearing just to keep it out of the way.. If it is leaking Oil she maybe overfilled, check the Rear Gear Oil level... I change my reear gear oil every riding season and have never had any issues..

Long case, I think I can fit put a 13 inch wheel on "14 max". The belt seems almost perfect except for the slack in it that could be caused by heat, I could be wrong Did the new long case motor come with the Belt already on it? And what size are your stock Wheels 10 or 12"?

New test: Today I unscrewed the exhaust from the engine so it wasn't tight and so it doesn't seal properly. It definitely run better! Therefore I assume the problem really lays in the exhaust. I will try to get a new one, but finding one for gy6 153qmi is a pain in the arse. Atleast here in Slovakia. Thank you guys, your help is tremendous , will report as soon as I buy new exhaust. EDIT: Seems like getting a new one which fits will be a real trouble. Is there something I can do right now? Like drilling holes in the muffler... or something ? Thanks Ya if you have some way to punch a hole clean thru the muffler would darn near do the trick, it is heavily baffled. Take a od measurement of the headpipe and try to local source some type of muffler, from a power equipment small tractor lawn mower type business, cut the headpipe off wear it attaches to you muffler and slip something else on.. I see from the photo the headpipe is non detachable. surf some sights and you can find just the headpipe then there will be more options to attach a muffler from there.. Slovakia Both of my grandparents were born in Slovakia, came to US thru Ellis island, and of course my mother is very strong in eastern european food taught to her from her mother.. Fine people...
