How do I start my bike? Lift stands, squeeze a brake lever, and press starter?

Ssr is a halfway decent make,,,, nice score on the machine!!! I personally would go through it top to bottom,,, every system every hose,,, Alleyoop is the resident scooter genius,,, if he doesn't know the answer no one does,,, I'll chime in if I can cyborg, thanks for the info. So can I presume that SSR means super stock racer! Just kidding. Tried charging the battery. No luck as I suspected. I heard Walmart might have one. There is also a battery store here in the Buffalo NY area that might help also. Yes I plan on going through this machine as you suggested. Thanks

Hello my new peeps I'm new to the scooter world. Rode bikes from Honda 90s to Harley's. I stopped when we had kids. Now they are grown with their own kids. So I got a used 07 jmstar 250 with only 48 miles on it from my neighbor. It was stored inside all these years. Yes 48 miles. It looks great. Does need some brake work. Front doesn't work, probably stuck caliper(?). Rear works but the lever seems to move farther then I feel it should. Probably needs a battery. I'm trying to charge the battery now. I am aware the this is not what may be called a top shelf machine. It is gray with SSR in the forks and below where your feet go. What is SSR supposed to mean? Any info? I hope to help others also.
