Thank you. Once I get the wiring figured out and the coolant leak fixed that will be next on the list.

Jmstar 250 SSR. Do I need to put it on the center stand every time I want to start this thing? If so why is there a kick stand?

That's why I cut it. But now I have to jump the seloniod slot start it and pull the plug to kill it. I'm sure your right it's time to pull some plastic off and start looking. Cyborg thanks for your help and all the others that chimed in! ? Ed

I got my jmstar 250 to start and run. Took it for a few laps around my small yard. What fun but i noticed it was running hot. I parked it and noticed it was leaking coolant. Went to turn it off, turned the key and it kept running. To get it to run I cut the green wire on the kill switch. And then jumped across the seloniod. I thought the kill switch was grounded not letting the starter turn and killing the ignition. So I cut the green wire on the kill switch. Now it runs if I jump the starter seloniod. But I can't turn it off. I pulled the plug wire off, that stopped it. Can someone point me in the right direction? That you Ed

Does anyone in the scooter know if an ignition coil from a Honda Reflex would work on my jmstar 250? Or perhaps some other coil? I don't really want to get another Chinese coil if I don't have to

How would I go about bypassing the kill switch on the handlebars? Solder the two wires together? Or cut them from the switch and tape the ends? If I get this thing to crank again there is still the lack of spark. I'm sure that will be another lovely thing to figure out. I would love to ride this thing. Can't wait to get better mpg's then the 14 my Silverado gets.

That's the strange thing about it. All I did was turn it on and crank it. I stopped went to do it again. And it doesn't crank. I do know that when I got the bike I had to connect the wires to the start button so maybe something else came loose near that. I even touched those two wires together but no go.

I was working on getting my 2007 jmstar 250 started yesterday. All the lights work. It was cranking fine.now it won't crank at all unless I jump across the starter seloniod. The brake lights work. I held the front brake while cranking it. I have noticed a yellow wire with a round connecter near the front brake lever. When I ground the plug with the key on and jump across the starter seloniod it cranks but no spark. Ignition coil is my guess. I don't want to keep buying parts until it finally has spark. I have it on the center stand. I even took the two wires off of the starter button and touched them together while holding the brake, nothing. It was cranking fine at the beginning of all this and then it just stopped cranking again unless I jump across the seloniod. I'm thinking and hoping that yellow wire has something to do with this. Help please and thank you. Ed.

Well it's time to see if can get it started. I figured if my wife would let me get it I should get some things done around the old homestead first. So tomorrow I work on my bike. And then back to the Honey due list. That's life.
